This is a group home which receives funding to do it’s job as well as possible to keep the kids that end up there safe, to try to turn their life around, and to keep society safe from them. They’ve clearly not done a very good job at all. The juvenile justice and CPS systems are riddled with corruption from within and without. It's a failed system. 1) Parents have no right upbringing at home. "Because parents are both out working and, many cases are just babies having babies" to benefit from welfare and social securities benefits. 2) some of these homes take the grants but not really having adequate staff and follow up programs. A) you're in a program 3 call out you going in. B) residents of these homes need to have a guidance rules in house treatment. Some don't have these to offered but yet they get the grants. 3) To a close. The American Social system its a failure. Since able bodies are willing to have off springs for social welfare benefits instead of getting to work. a) If you are mentally capable to bared child yiur able to ho to work and raise a child unfortunately families morals have all being washed out down the toilets. Parents real parents can not discipline a child because they be in jail same in schools. Hate that this happened but? Could be avoided if law will not interfere with the families rights to bring up a child. Unfortunately society has created that parents need to go to work because one man can not support a family (bigger homes, bigger cars, RV's etc....all of which bought with loans. Fact is that the working class will always stay a working class while the industries gets reaches and prices are up forcing the families whom have no controls over expenditures to work more while the richess classes get richer and the working class stays the same digging deeper in to finances. The family starts at home where once was a root, anchor. Now there's no anchors at home their away working leaving the young at home alone. These is my own personal opinion hope that may not offend anybody but if it's really family matters? Save for what you want pay in full and stay one at home up bringing a child right. However, parenting laws need to be scrutinize too, not taking that parents rights away.

And, no, (as sad as it is) there are no "grieving families" these kids could have left behind...they lived in a group home for foster children. They're wards of the state with no parents/family. This is all discussed in the news story though. I'm just honestly shocked & appalled at how many people are trying to place 'blame' on the homeowners. They're victims of a home invasion. Everyone needs to STOP blaming guns for everything & start blaming the people responsible for committing these criminal acts!

These children clearly need help! You can not possibly have any idea what they have been through! Trying these children as adults will not benefit the children, the community, nor anyone involved in this situation! I understand that you feel that their actions are adult and they therefore deserve adult consequences, but I believe that especially since no one was killed or seriously injured besides one of the shooters, it makes FAR MORE sense to focus on meeting the unmet needs of these youth that this incident clearly exposes! This was not planned & premeditated, the children found those weapons in the house! Another important question I didn't hear anyone mention is: why weren't those weapons stored responsibly? The AK-47 at the very least should have been very securely locked up! That is NOT a weapon of self-defense! If punishment & consequences were actually effective with these children, it's unlikely this event would've happened to begin with. It's clear that there is a much more serious & deeper situation going on here which needs to be addressed! This is absolutely NOT normal or typical behavior for children! Have you no empathy for the level of horrific events that these children must have endured to make them react in this way?! We KNOW that sentencing them to spend the rest of their youth and young adult years in prison has NO possibility for preparing them to become law abiding, productive members of society! There's no doubt or question about that. Prison is essentially a very effective "school" which teaches inmates to become true criminals and connects them to the networks which will enable that to happen once they are released. Only by taking into account their age and how they have been failed and their basic needs unmet, do we have the possibility to devise an effective treatment that has any possibility of giving these youth the tools, resources & support they require to build productive and successful lives as adults!
