Eek is located in southwestern Alaska at the mouth of the Kuskokwim River near the Bering Sea. This 17-minute program from the early 1970s tells the story of art produced by Eek students under the instruction of teacher Paul Forer. Children are shown in school and at play around the community. The artwork of Eek elders is also featured. The producers of the film grateful acknowledge the Alaska Festival of Native Arts, the Alaska Festival of Music, BP of Alaska and SOHIO. The photographer is Justin Kelley, and the narrator is Wayne Johnson. The high-resolution digital scan of this film was made possible by the Lower Kuskokwim School District (Color/Sound/16mm film).
This sequence is an excerpt from AAF-5459 from the Lower Kuskokwim School District collection held by the Alaska Film Archives, a unit of the Alaska & Polar Regions Department in the Elmer E.
