From Chiltern Hundreds Web Page
We are a team of like-minded dancers and musicians who enjoy performing the fascinating and engrossing dances from the industrial North West of England.
The team has been dancing since 1992 and was founded by Kate Rose, a leading teacher and researcher into North West Clog Morris.
Among our very many enjoyable tours, a few stand out for mention from when in 1998 the team travelled to Hong Kong for the New Years’s Parade and again a few years later the team travelled to Seattle for the Northwest Folklife Festival and then went onto Vancouver via Vancouver Island.
The team continues to perform at many festivals around the UK having recently performed at Whitby, Sidmouth, Towersey and Shrewsbury.
If you would like to book the team for a display, or would like to have a go at dancing or playing, please contact us, or come along and join us at our practices in Bushey, nr Watford.
From Folk Weekend: Oxford Web Page
Since its inception in 2012 Folk Weekend: Oxford has established itself in Oxfordshire as one of the best folk events around. Musicians, bands, dancers and folk enthusiasts come from near and far to experience “one of the county’s best weekends of music”
Working with our partners in Oxford, and with venues and organisations around the city, we have a fabulous weekend of music and dance for you. Whether you enjoy a concert, a ceilidh, a workshop or a bit of Morris dancing there should be something for you. Just click on the event and you will be directed to where you can purchase a ticket for each event.
There are plenty of free events around for you. All our local showcase stages are in the city centre and there for you just to come along, enjoy the music and meet the musicians. We have a wealth of talent in Oxfordshire and our surrounding counties and love that so many musicians come and take part each year.
