I lived in China for 3 1/2 years, one of which was at a Shijiazhuang, 3 1/2 hours west of Beijing. The city had started as a small village which became the central hub of trains heading in all directions. Because of that, the city grew and industries, which included pharmaceutical, textile industries, machinery, chemicals, building materials, light industries and electronics relocated to that area and proliferated without attention to pollution controls. It is now the 13th most polluted city by particulate matter concentration (121 PM2.5). in the country. My apartment had a solarium, which I never used because even though it was sealed off from the atmosphere, and there were doors between it and my living room., the pollution filters in. The student who worked as my assistant and cleaner would have to clean both every day and sometimes twice daily depending on the amount of pollution that filtered in was terrible and the stench made it difficult to breathe and even when looking out the contamination in the air was nearly as bad as the smog we used to get in London in the 40s and 50s and this was in 2006. The cleanest place I worked in was Qinhuangdao, 4 hours east of Beijing on the coast which is a seaport and were exports include coal, coke, petroleum, and timber are shipped from as well as being a centre for glass manufacture, and machine-making, ceramic, power, textile, and food-processing industries, but there is not much air pollution because of its location by the sea and is surrounded by small mountains so pollution from other locations is sent over the top of the city and out to sea. 'nuf sed.

i rlly hope this is sorted out soon. it's sad that so many of us internationally are profiting off the work of these civilians who are dying over the conditions their industry creates. they didn't choose to be born into the industrial revolution of china, but they're still suffering under it. god capitalism creates monstrous monopolies who don't even consider people.

In the area of the UK where I live there is a Chinese family 3 doors down from my house and I have known them for years I often talk to their eldest daughter and I asked her once if she ever got homesick she instantly replied no I can breathe here at first I thought she meant basic freedoms but thinking on it now I guess she was being literal

Today is 10 July 2024... The air and river water quality and general environment throughout China have improved tremendously, largely due to the government and people determined efforts to arrest pollution at source. Blue skies have returned to Chinese cities.

2019 I am living in China and can’t live without 3 M face mask. The weather forecast even faked the air pollution data. It said air quality is excellent when you can’t see five 5 in front of you ( in Suzhou). I was in Beijing for 24 hours ( black particle in the air n foul smell) and it took me 1 year to recover from the upper raspatory infection. ( the medication did not work) after I left China

roy C When was the dome built? I was there in 2007 when they had a music festival for high school students across Europe and Asia. I was one of the second violinists for that meetup. I know for sure we did the event over the winter and I could still breathe the Beijing air without much wheezing. Then again, it was only 4 days...

Normally these things will happened .there is corruption going on the legislative power, there should be a stringent rule to be heeded and adhered. The mayor of that city should be answerable and he is to be accountable. What if is the CCP played a major role in allowing this to happened, its people power that matters and voiced out you grievances without failed.

This is quite serious and the CCP should do something ,development is to improve the health of the people ,what is the use development if it is going to kill your peop[eThere should be check and balance between factories and the enviroment. Air and water are the essential for healthy living. This things are corrupted by the hand of the people.Enviromental pollution should be control.
