Yes we are so lucky in Australia to have the RSPCA, The wilderness society and many wildlife carers protecting our animals and nature. We think animals are special and important, so should you China.

I am so happy this issue is coming to light especially the abuse in China. China NEEDS to implement strict abuse laws and shelters

Amazing woman. Didn’t know they had a stray problem. Glad this is being addressed. Yep just like Australia breeders. They need to shut them down.

Animal cruelty and abandonment should be taught in primary school, or at least in younger education. Humanity is just getting worse and worse and it needs to be stemmed early on so that there is a brighter future for animals and pets. I'd love to donate to that lady that is looking after all those animals. Does she have a page? She is a warrior and deserves all the help we can give her.

Social media is very powerful and influential. There can be people who showcase how they live and care for their pets on line and tell their stories of how they value their life with their fur babies. When i adopted my bunny, I watched rabbit owners care and educate on rabbit ownership.

Teach empathy and humans should provide an environment where natural progression can grow. Those aren't stray. We don't call birds stray? For living in freedom. Non humans aren't problem. They are perceived as problem or infestation or invasion by humans bcs they think they own every creature in this planet. Humans need to change their perspective. We are the problem.

@@Vor567tez yes but cats and dogs aren’t wild animals so cannot roam freely. We have to stop these breeders like here in Australia and America and yes educate people.

So, on average China only has 1 stay cats on every 28 people. That's actually very little. Basically this ABC video is making mountains out of molehills again where China is concerned. 🙄 It's true that legislation should be made, even for these few stray cats, because they are becoming a nuisance for the local wildlife and a health hazard on public streets. But this is a very recent problem for a very recently industrialized nation. In every country legislation is slower to catch up on the actual day-to-day problems that crop up. The animal protection laws will come and probably neutering will become standard practice; it's just going to take more time, because there are many other more pressing priorities that must be engaged first in such a large country.
