Chinese like the rest of East Asians(Koreans, Japanese Mongolians) have a higher emotional melting point and a lower testosterone levels compared with Westerners. They are more into harmony and dealing things in a holistic manner. This phenomenon is regarded in the west as being weak and meek and earns no respect in the west. But the Chinese looks at this as being at a higher level of human development, just like the ability to take pain to a higher level to accommodate a disgruntled child. For now the west could push this a little further but it cannot be taken too far. If it were the Eastern Europeans, like the Russians the west would have been taken a few economic whippings already.

There are valid questions around the fairness of EU-wide actions that expose some member states to retaliation more than others. For instance, if China were to impose tariffs on European pork exports in response to the EU's car tariffs, it would disproportionately impact pork exporters like Denmark. While cooperation and solidarity among EU countries can strengthen their overall trade position, collective policies may not always distribute the costs and benefits evenly. Countries with limited involvement in the original issues being addressed could end up shouldering retaliation consequences beyond what directly affects their own industries. In this case, pork producers in Denmark could face lost access to the Chinese market even though they have little stake in protecting European automakers from Chinese competition. It may not seem justified for some members to effectively subsidize the interests of others through facing retaliation risks on unrelated goods.
