I’m also Chinese American living in NYC and I remember being bullied growing up because we eat what is “weird” things by people here. Now I’m a bit older and realize how great our cuisine is by not wasting any part of the animal for food consumption. Chicken feet may not be for all but it’s soooo full of collagen - keeps us young and healthy. ❤

Pan fried noodles used the be my favorite noodle but after seeing your appreciation of BCF and after watching a documentary on “wok hey”, beef chow fun is now my #1 favorite. Also much easier to get a decent beef chow fun in my area.

You and Tung had a wide variety of dishes. Glad you enjoyed most of it. Never been to PPP. My brother used to rave about this place, pre-COVID. But he agrees, there are other places that are better, but the noodles looked excellent. Hi, Tung!

Looks like a decent spot. The prices looked reasonable. Good to see the seafood chowmein with the noodles cooked HK style. Was the waitress wrong when she said it was only $十六? It looked good with lots of seafood. Glad Tung enjoyed his chicken feet. The lo bok gao did look nasty.

👋Danny! 👋Tung! I would try the chicken feet with Tung. When my kids and I go out for a meal, we always try something that we've never had before. Sometimes it's really disappointing, but we get a good story out of it, but overall, we find that there are many things out there, that if you can get it past your mind, are really delicious.

If you order an unlimited refill beverage like soda, or Iced tea you can forget about getting any refills. Once your food comes you won’t see your server again. We’ve dined at Ping Pang Pong over 10 times and never gotten a refill on a drink. Sometimes they also add a 18% tip to your check.

Enjoyed this vid. I was wondering what is the significance of your fingers tapping the table when someone poured your tea? Also the sauce on the pan fried noodles and seafood. I wonder how that is made? Chicken powder and hot water maybe? Tks Karla in Cali.

Danny - food looked OK (just OK). It’s unfortunate the pan-fried noodles were bland and that you had to add salt. Your almost burning your mouth on the siu mei at 08:00 reminded me of a similar occurrence in your Sushi 88 video with David (where you almost burned your mouth on hot food items) - be careful especially when those food items are steaming! Anyway, the food here looked OK but the atmosphere and service seemed good and always glad to see you and Tung enjoying a meal. Btw the turnip cake - at 3:30 you said you’d send it back. Did you send it back to the kitchen? What did they say? Just curious what their reaction was

Bou Lei tea = Pu’erh tea. Popular for dim sum. Cleanses palate for each dish. My other favourites guk po & guk fa cha. Dan, why do you do that to yourself all the time? Do know well that Chinese food is piping hot, especially the tea! I usually finish eating before I can even sip the tea.

I went late at night and had a excellent dim sum experience. Everything is made to order at night and the dim sum menu is a lot smaller. Big difference from what we are seeing here (carts vs freshly made). My only knock on the experience is the desert is pretty mediocre. The mango pudding was pretty sad and the mochi was just pre packaged mochi ice cream. I would definitely go again after midnight. I think the night shift might be carrying the places reputation for good dim sum and Chinese.

Dai Lo, Why don’t you show how much the meal costs at the end of your videos like the way you used to? I think it is useful info.
@dannythemedic
Жыл бұрын
"Why don’t you show how mu" Yes, I used to have the receipt with the music at the end... the reason I stopped was that to make the overlay cards I have to keep adjusting them according to the size of the receipt and that took extra time, plus I have to fold or hide my credit card info and all that... nowadays I use a premade template that fits the same overlay at the end with the music, I know the prices are important so I try my best to include the price somewhere in the video, whether it be spoken or maybe the menu is show or just specific pics of the prices, and if I forget to do something that, usually google can provide the prices and I would include a link in the pinned comment to the prices or something like that.

PAY CASH!! If you pay w the credit card, watch your statement. My bill was $57 + tips. Total $70. My credit card charged $101. Someone in the restaurant manually edited the pending charge. BE AWARE! I'll report to my credit card company 😠 PAY CASH!!

pending charge don't mean anything, restaurants always put a pending charge larger than the check, so that if you do tip, that amount will also clear. Just keep your eye on the final charge.

Hi Danny, yeah PPP somehow has gone so far downhill the last few years. We don't go there anymore. We like Asia BBQ on Spring Mountain much much better. Yeah, the food in the carts is generally NOT HOT and they don't allow you to get a dish right out of the kitchen. So, the ladies will LIE and tell you it's fresh and hot on the carts. Don't fall for it. Dim Sum ain't cheap ! Beware at PPP:
