that's the thing the WNBA is missing, that MJ, Lebron, kobe type of player. of course theres a lot of talent in the league but theres no one dominant player. if there is a dominant player then everyone else will follow and challenge her and that will create stories, parody, which will get attention and people to watch. playing basketball isn't enough, theres always a story behind these players and that's where a portion of the entertainment factor plays in

@@AAL. I think that is David Stern's greatest accomplishment. He made the league about the individual. For better or worse, but mostly for the better. The players drive the bus in the NBA..they are marketed constantly, and they league is always looking to promote the "next" guy. It has been a brilliant marketing vehicle..

LOL WNBA players talent wise and athletic wise are not the same level as mens Division III players, so let's not go there. The WNBA is propped up by the NBA and it's been a failure for 20 some odd years with minor TV contracts and still low attendance for at least half of the league and multiple teams folding.

Actually, it wouldn't matter if Stern never vetoed that trade. Lakers would've still been horrible after 2013. Kobe was on his last legs, Achilles injury or not. Both are ball-dominant.
