That '54 is gorgeous! I had a '53 that was worn out, bland white, back in 1966 or so. So I painted it. Light blue top, dark blue body ... with a paint brush. All I had and was glad to have that.

That's awesome. My grandfather had a 41 Chevy he bought used off a relative back in the day. It was green and tan and the relative didn't like the tan so they painted the whole car green with a paint brush. It still has that coat of paint on it to this day.

Beautiful cars, done up right. Old look but modern suspension and power. Subtle changes to body to make more pleasing to the eye and make it more a one off. Kudos to Chip Foose and the Wesley group for their collaboration. Stunning engine compartments too.

After looking at this build a few more time, I now prefer these lines, shapes, and silhouette over the later Tri-5's. Admittedly, the 57 Bel-Air 2-door is very pleasing in some color combos, and they are all nice - but this one has become one of my all time favorite "remodels" of a 50's Chevy. This is some classy shaping and subtle customizing. Well done, hats off to all :)

Chip Foose is one 1⃣ of the best car builders ever he can come up with a drawing based on what the customer tells him they want whether it be something on the wild side or a barely noticeable custom,and the ✌ cars in this video prove that

All the tri fives can be made to look better with less being done to them than a lot of other makes the mid 50s Fords do come close in the less is more version of customizing a car both brand lend themselves to modern colors and paint schemes nicely

Absolutely a rolling piece of art work ! All his cars are just amazing 🤩. Sadly how does one enjoy driving these cars without worrying to death about the “what if’s” in life. How could you not want to drive this everyday everywhere ! Gorgeous ! However, what does a person do when something goes wrong or breaks on these cars ? Where do you go to get it fixed ? Who do you call if it does not start one day ? I could not buy this car and then just park it at the house, I would want to drive it all the time, especially to show off Chip’s hard work and his talent ! Incredible how they are able to mix and match all the different car brands, models and features to make these perfect 1 of a kind masterpieces.

Pudgy is a good descriptive term for the 54 Chevrolet Bel Air. However, I have come to like them more and more as the years go by. I have seen many 54 Bel Airs that are very good looking and it really helps when they are lowered. This one has very subtle styling "improvements" that help it earn its name "Cool Air."

Those mid-thirties coupes (Ford, Chev, Plymouth) were all gorgeous, with those long flowing wings; the forties blobs were ugly by comparison, and there's some hangover in that Chevy, but the two-tone paint does a good job of flattering those lines..

@SlimRhyno

I don't mean to be rude, but I think that you might be missing the point. In regards to the best craftsmen, in any field, one's work is not necessarily better than the others, because by necessity it doesn't need to be. They are just... different. That's what makes it so individual and special; there is truly something for everyone.
@driverjamescopeland
5 жыл бұрын
Ummmm... Chip WAS Coddington's best work. He was Boyd's top designer on his best builds (given the period).
@Ace______

The thing is boyd took other people's designs and slapped his name on them. Foose tends to designe nice vehicles but he almost always takes the soul away from the original car
@driverjamescopeland
5 жыл бұрын
Ace Angel - I have to disagree a bit. Boyd's name was on everything to come out of his design studio... no different from anyone else. Chip usually gives credit to his collaborators. Boyd rarely did... but that was his prerogative.... same as Chrysler. Also, Chip's designs "take the soul away from the original car"? If you don't design something that diverges from the original design, you haven't built a custom car... you've merely accented someone else's design. If that's all you're looking for, there are thousands of automotive shops out there that will gladly provide you with thousands of examples of what you're looking for. We're talking about two DESIGNERS, not mere customizers. It takes a lot more skill to build a car from the ground up, only using influences of the original design, than it does to simply add custom touches.
@Ace______
5 жыл бұрын
@@driverjamescopeland no I understand I just think Boyd's design team always left the the car a little more original than chips team. I understand they are custom designers and it's just a matter of opinion. I like fooses work better but it's not like foose and boyd are building the same car to be able to compare. I guess I'm just more into classic originals. Customs are cool but original Is my preference
