Chippewa closed their last 2 factories in Missouri in 2020. When stocked supplies are purchased, no more “Handcrafted in the U.S.A.” boots from them.

I have two pairs..... a pair of Super Loggers, and a pair of Apache Steel toe utility boots..... ive been wearing the Super Loggers for 4 years now, and the other boots for 2 and a half years.... and they are not even ready for resoling.... none of them. The best boots i´ve had. Super Loggers didnt even need breaking time.... The Steel toe Apache boots were a little bit harder to master (10 days at most), but now they feel like if they were part of my body. I recomend this boots to anyone. If they finally fall apart ( i guess it will be a long time from now), i will surely get Chippewas again.

I just got my super loggers in the mail the other day, took a 10 min walk to break them in. My other soft toe chips have lasted me over a year and still look and feel like new

Got a pair of 6" arctic 50's at the beginning of November and all I can say is wow! I do snowplowing and often have to get out of the truck and shovel walks and stairs. These boots have kept my feet toasty warm and dry in the three storms we've had so far. Already know I love these boots!!

So the Goodyear welt is basically for looks, as you'll notice the outsole is glued on with no additional sewing. A good boot will have the entire sole sewn to the welt. Sorry Chippewa, but customers are getting smarter.
@garyindiana2127

no, that's not possible with this type of rubber sole. This technique is very durable and makes resoling easier, if you weren't aware of this practice already ur high signing

To be fair, top-of-the-line handcrafted boots like Nick's, Frank's, White's, Baker's, etc. actually DO stitch through the sole as well as screwing and clinch-nailing. This process is still very durable for machine-crafted boots, if it were a problem I'm sure they wouldn't have such a remarkable reputation. ✌🏼

I bought my first pair of insulated/waterproof Chippewa's this week. Going to wear them through the upcoming New England winter, and hopefully many more. If they live up to their name I'll be buying a pair of the Engineer style for motorcycle riding next Spring.

@@jacobanderson4698 I know this is a whole year later, but just saying that comparing a boot that's between $180USD-$300USD (Depending on model made by Chippewa.) to a boot that AT MINIMUM costs around $485USD before addons and really goes up to about $550 or even $600+ if you want more specialized hardware, that's a bit of an unfair comparison to make. It's like comparing Cadbury chocolate to something made by Swarovski.

I bought a pair of the 73075 Redwood Loggers. They are unfortunately made in China. However, I would put the quality on par with the Apache's made in the USA. They really are that good. I of course paid a little less than the Apache's made here, but I would gladly have paid another $20 if needed. I really hope they start making the Redwood Loggers and Sportility's in the USA again.

The underside of the lace hole eyelets have sharp edges that cut through and break the laces. This is a common problem with a lot of cusomers that have bought these boots.

@sporty04 - Thanks! My brother in law has had one pair of of the Arctic -50's since 2005. He just bought a second pair because the first have no tread left. He wears them year round though, so i guess five and a half years year round wear isn't bad.
