Stopping at your first application of UV resin and you've got what I fished with great success on the provo all summer long. When the water levels dropped this fall I noticed the fish slow down the take rate.

I can second Eric’s beads are excellent. I thought there wouldn’t be a difference until I tried them.

Looks like a super effective, easy chironomid tie! Also the zoom and video quality on this is outstanding.

I did notice the sutle snicker when you mentioned the the color's name. That fly is killer, I'll have to give that a shot. Thanks for the shoutout for the beads, they really are pretty neat.

Do you have a brick and mortar store in Utah?

Awesome fly Bob! What were your thoughts surrounding gold for the goose biot?

You can use either gold, amber, or red goose biots. If you take a look at chirnomid pupa a lot of the wing cases are that gold/orangey color. Putting orange on a chironomid pattern is a pretty common practice. You can see what I mean here: www.riseformflyfishing.com/chironomids.htm

Also, one thing you'll notice in still photos of chironomid pupa, they tend to orient themselves with the wing case tips pointed down. Since this is a jig hook meant to invert the hookpoint, this pattern will sit with the tips pointed down as well.
