During the Cho'gal fight you will have a custom Ui bar. And you can pretty much ignore it for most of the fight. It a corrupted blood meter and it gets filled up if you get hit by any of cho'gal's abilities. But you won't get hit because you are watching this guide. So you can pretty much ignore the bar and focus on other things for the 1st phase. You will get a debuff called accelerated corruption at 25 stacks. That is healers job, healers watch the debuffs on their unit frames and dispel the corruption. In case your bar gets half full face away from other ppl, this shouldn't happen until last phase but still, in case it does, face away from other ppl.
Stay grouped up behind boss as he does cone attack. Periodically a couple of your raid members will gem mind controlled. The more time they spend mind controlled the more powerful cho'gal becomes. Interrupt the mind control by using any form of interrupt, including stuns or push back effects. Things like warstomp shadowfury work beautifully on 25 man where 5 ppl get mc and both ranged and melees stay grouped up on boss. As soon as we get mind controlled our lock smacks us in the head with a shadowfury, and I think he kinda enjoys this.
Phase 2 and it's adds time. Everybody switch dps to the recently spawned add. It is also time to spread out because of shadow crash. Priority is to interrupt ppl. that are mind controlled, because you are now spread out this is more difficult to achieve, this is one of the most important points in the battle, and everyone in raid should help out. Interrupt whoever you see that is mind controlled. For example we got up to 7 stacks, tank is dead. Or we got up to 4 stacks, tank is dead. If ... when this happens to you then tank should use a cooldown, if he dies, Offtank should pick up the boss, use a cooldown and survive long enough for the buffs to fade. Combat rez main tank.
And back to the adds, as I was saying dps them down. Once they are dead, there is no more reason to stay spread out, so group back up on boss. Also when the adds die they leave a black puddle. From this puddle slimes will spawn that will head for the boss. If they reach Cho'gal, he gets buffed. That is why you want to move Chogal furthest away from the area you have the black puddle. The slimes get slowed, stunned. Ranged dps gets them down before they reach the boss. And you get back into your normal phase 1 status in which you just nuke the boss. You will get add phase again after a while.Another add, another black puddle, another black puddle, another set of slimes only here's the catch this time you get slimes not only from the puddle of the add you just killed but also from the previous puddles. You will want melees to help out with the slimes once you reach 3 or 4 black puddles.
Tanks should taunt of each other when the boss does fury of cho'gal.
At 25% phase 3 begins and this is the hardest part of the battle. Save major healing cooldowns for this phase. Remember that bar that I was telling you about in the begging, well now it's starts to grow. Dispel ppl that are getting corruption. Above 50 you might get a debuff that will make you start throwing up on other ppl. You have 5 seconds time when you get this debuff to look the other way. So please get out of the raid and look the other way.
Then you have the tentacles. They reduce your dps by 75% so you absolutely have to take em down. Cleave and mass aoe them down. We don't all go on the same tentacle so we can interrupt them.
Another thing that that really helps is to have the boss tanked really close to the wall. This makes the tentacles behind him spawn really close to each other. This makes them easier to aoe down.
