Hello my dear Stephanie I now finished baking up a huge batch of these cookies and I must say 😊 they turn out perfect 😌. I always say your the best baker I have ever come across in the internet your recipe is long and looking as t you I sense that you tried to hurry it along but I don't mind the length of your videos because they teaches me indepth. Anyways my 33years old son took one bite of one and took the container with about 5 that I put out for the family to eat so I have to put out some more I got 35 cookies from the batch that I baked so it have a lot to go around am sure alot will be eaten by my son and am sure my daughter 30yrs old will be scolding him to leave for others 😆. Anyways I love love how they turn out. I will be making a few of your recipes for the holidays one being your carrot cake 🎂. Enjoy the rest of the week and you and your family keep real good. God bless.

Thanks for the recipe! Store bought chocolate cookies are crap compared to these homemade varieties. Today, I also find many local bakeries cooking these using vegetable oil which is ridiculous because you can't compare their flavour to homemade CC cookies made with butter . There is no comparison.

Dear Stephanie, After I subscribed your channel, the first dish I made was lemon tart using your shortcrust pastry recipe. It came out so well. Thanks. The chocolate cookie recipe also came well but my cookies gets hard as time passes. What is the reason for hardening after two days of baking the cookie and how to avoid it?
@joyofbaking
6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for subscribing. Chocolate Chip Cookies are at their best when fresh from the oven. When you store them, the cookies do firm up. When you make the batter you could just bake some cookies and then store the rest of the batter in the refrigerator for a couple of days before baking the rest of the cookies.

Hi Joy. I've tried several of your cookie recipes with different variations of success. Sometimes they turn out perfect, sometimes they don't. I feel it depends on what type of sugar I use TBH. Like if I use regular granulated white sugar, and brown sugar (can't find light brown sugar here in Norway) it spreads and become chrispy, but if I use confectionery sugar and brown sugar, it somewhat doesn't end up well. Like it doesn't spread as much? What do I do wrong? Also now I learned when to put in the chocolate chips because it's a nightmare to stick them in when the batter is done...been a subbie for a long time, and still remember when I found your channel years ago when you where akward behind camera 😅
@joyofbaking

Yes, the type of sugars you use will affect the texture of the cookies. I have found the best results are when I use white and brown sugars.

We are lucky to live here. Jekyll is just a few miles away by water. The trees are live oaks with Spanish moss growing on them. They loose their leaves in the spring instead of the fall so they are green all year round. Many are hundreds of years old and have survived many hurricanes because they are so strong.

Do I have to keep the cookies out after refrigeration before putting them in the oven coz the last batch came out well.
@joyofbaking
Жыл бұрын
The baking time determines how soft or crisp the cookies will be. I like to bake them so the outside edges are crisp, yet the centers are a little soft. If you find the centers are too soft then I would bake the cookies a little longer. Because the longer you bake them the more crisp they will be.
