Who else finds it ironic that Ann used to be a dietician and now shows millions of people how to make several types of desserts?
@OmqSparklez
4 жыл бұрын
Elizabeth Lingurar I know this is an old comment but I also know people are probably seeing it today since it’s second top so I’m going to say here... dietitian doesn’t mean diet counselor, like, it isn’t someone who tells you “these foods are Bad and these foods are Good and you have to eat by some arbitrary concept of Healthy,” if your dietitian is like that they aren’t a good one because the idea of good and bad food or universally good or bad diets isn’t real science. A dietitians job is to help people who have problems with eating, gastrointestinal health, failure to thrive, severe allergies, etc, find ways to mitigate, treat and help those problems by way of specific diets, supplements, or whatever a person may need. Often times for many people a dietitians job is to tell you to load up on carbs and prescribe you an additional calorie supplement, much more often than it is to tell someone to restrict food, and if it is to restrict food it is always in specific ways to help the source of a problem, such as a specific diet for allergies or IBS, or suggesting safe intermittent fasting. So it’s... really not ironic at all.

I know your comment is older but I'm re-watching Ann's vids so wanted to share: She does say in another video growing up she wasn't allowed to have sweets other than a special birthday cake every year. So that might be why she focuses on sweet treats. Kind of a Willy Wonka [the Johnny Depp one] situation~
@LizLuvsCupcakes

@@Crow_Smith I actually learned that later, which solidifies my theory that if you tell a child they can’t have something they will only compensate later.

This is such an inspirations to me. Although I was taught as a kid to give second chances and that revenge wasn’t the right way and I should just turn my cheek, others viewpoints had their affect on me and I sort of saw second chances as a far off fantasy. I found revenge and punishment more appealing and I sort of stopped believing in second chances. But seeing how you and so many others solving a problem this way makes it seem a bit more in my reach. It’s like how people say that repaying evil with kindness doesn’t work and they deserve punishment got into my head. So thank you for sharing your story, it has helped me a lot. :)

It's so funny that you went from being a dietician to someone that cooks/bakes things that most dieticians would cringe at. That made me smile :) xxAlso, that story you told...so lovely. xx

+Stephanie i know, it's a bit weird! But i have a philosophy that people should only have sweet food in moderation ... but if you're only going to have a little bit, then to make sure it's really good quality.

I love how the chefs on your series always have a great back story. Wait... you ARE gonna make a giant version for him as a gift, are you? :)
