How to replicate the taste of a Snickers bar in a dessert without using an actual Snickers.
With a few simple ingredients and no cooking or baking whatsoever, as a Snickers’ lover, I’m happy with this result.
The following quantities fill 4 10-ounce (180 ml) glasses.
The whole process took me 30 minutes plus 30 minutes chilling time in the middle,
Ingredients:
Milk chocolate - 2.5 ounces (70 grams)
Dark chocolate - 2.5 ounces (70 grams)
Caramel sauce (Dulce de leche) - 6 ounces (170 grams)
Salted roasted peanuts - 4.25 ounces (120 grams)
Unsweetened whipping cream - 1 cup (225 ml)
Mascarpone cheese - 1/2 cup (3.5 ounces / 100 grams)
Method:
Finely chop the milk and dark chocolate into small shards then mix together.
Whisk the cream, mascarpone and 3.5 ounces (100 grams) of caramel sauce until it forms firm peaks.
Put the creamy mixture into a piping bag with a medium hole snipped at the end (you can just spoon if if you prefer.)
Roughly chop the peanuts and combine with 2.5 ounces (70 grams) of caramel sauce.
Divide half of the chocolate shards into the bottom of your serving glasses.
Pipe or spoon a generous layer of the creamy mixture in next.
Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Then add a layer of the peanuts in caramel.
Finally top your desserts with the remaining chocolate.
Keep them on the fridge until you’re ready to eat them.
Tip: The salted peanuts really give this a better Snickers flavour than plain peanuts.
