As a Buddhist practitioner from another "lineage", hahaha (labels), I find Chogyam Trungpa very joyful and revolutionary. He is fundamentally asking us to practice for real, experience for real, and not be caught up in being something, or sounding smart, which acts a hindrance from the truth and a real trap that leads me or anyone to end up being a fake or a charlatan. I love him and it is why I pray for his happiness every day. Thank you for allowing me to share.

The Vidyadhara was truly inimitable as a teacher. A true kalyanamitra. NAMASTE

In a spontaneous poem with A. Ginsburg, the Vidyadhara once said : 'more walks softly'. Verily. Umm, may I humbly paraphrase an old Chinese bromide: 'the journey of a thousand miles begins by putting one's best foot forward. For what will it avail you If one winds up at a dead end? This from one PMH* to another. Thanks KZitemrs for this upload. Oh, the humanity!

Getting to view and hear Chogyam Trungpa through video; He is fascinating and it feels as if he is critiquing "blind" following and the elitism bound to dogma. It seems too he has a bit of a youngs man's frustration with the absurdities of traditions and the accolades given to these traditions. Yet, as an educator I would say it is so important for those young ones, inspired and bound by word, to have an education of syllable, pace, rhythm and meaning. Every tradition has "absurd" methodologies that are not absurd at all to the K-12 teachers -including the Vajrayana and the Oregon Country Fair "nutballs" which apparently are responsible for much of this regions teaching styles within the sects of "New Agers" here; neither "bad nor good" nor "right or wrong".

Zen is about approaching everything with mindfulness. Perhaps this is why he didn’t like it.

Tibetan Buddhists in general belittle Zen. It goes back to the first patriarch of Zen who was a monk in Gautama's sangha that claimed to have gotten Buddha's blessing to be considered foremost among teachers of Buddha-Dharma simply because he traded his new robes for Gautama's old robes. In terms of understanding and realization, Gautama's primary attendant, Ananda, was more qualified to lead the sangha after Gautama's death.

I was actually referring to the obvious fact that it is not water that he is compulsively sipping from that glass in such an unconscious fashion ...but perhaps my comment was too subtle.

All activities in tibetan buddhism have nothing to do with the teachings of buddha.
