@@tiadanama4512 Your statement does not make any sense. Chola Empire defeated the Srivijaya Kingdom and ended the Sailendra Dynasty. There are severeal evidence for this. The Sailendras ceased to exist after the invasion of Rajendra Chola. After the Chola invasion a huge amount of Tamil inscriptions started to spread in Indonesia, Malaysia and southern Thailand. The Chola Emperor Kulothunga Chola was even called by the Chinese as the King of Chola and Srivijaya. And even a Malaysian text of the 15th century mentions the Chola invasion of Malaysia. And the Malaysian term for ship called Kappel comes from the Tamil word for ship which is also Kappel.

These were invasion forces, which means ~50% force had to be left to guard their home base and other borders. These numbers were confirmed by multiple sources. 1. The word “Navy” is a gift to the present day world from Tamil. It is derived from the Tamil word “Naavaai”. 2. Sozhlas (Cholas) had a dedicated naval fleet. 3. Rajarajan did not invade Sinhalese. He recovered northern Tamil territories from Sinhalese invasion, which was later completely recovered by Rajendran. 4. Rajendra Sozhlan did not directly attack Sri Vijayan kingdom who held Sozhlan merchant vessels, he split his fleet into two, where one sailed straight and the other sailed the unknown and circled back the island without modern navigational compass as in use today. India is proud to have Tamils, just like Telugus, Kannadigas, Malayalis, Marathis, Punjabis, Bengalis, Oriya, Assamese, and all other cultures.

We are patronizing Julius Ceasars, Alexander as great kings, same time we need to recognize our own history. OTT platform should come forward and make series on these unsung emperors. Palki one more request, can you make one episode on warrior queen Velunachiyar from sivagangai? An unsung queen who fought against British during 17th century.

Nope, as an Odia and on top of that an Indian, I won't allow that Tamil Nadu has a history to keep Tamil Nadu as 1st, India as 2nd Odias don't do that... Sorry these words are harsh but Kalinga found the navy first, check all our monuments and see for yourself... Plus the trade relation festivals like "Bali Jatra" also speak volumes Cholas killed the relations India has with SE Asia just to satisfy their ego and greed Kalinga was instead a friend to SE Asia and connected them with Indian culture Our naval history predates the Cholas by a margin of 500-1000 years that is... Yet Cholas getting the credit, Marathas getting the credit? Why? Is Kalinga seen as a dead empire? Ngl, the negligence of coverage of issues of Odisha still till modern date also speaks volumes... Are we not Indians? We not showing our greatness and give us credit where it's due? Are we gonna celebrate Cholas too who betrayed Indian interests, just like that Ashoka? I am really proud and glad that you took chola kingdom’s history that literally no one cared except the people of Tamil Nadu and some international youtube channels who mentioned them in their videos. I am really glad that Palki mam made a video about this. I love that you told thanjavur not Tanjore. Many talk about the Marathas, Mauryas but only few talk about the Chola empire. This video made my day. Thank you @Firstpost and palki mam

In my matric history school books in Tamil Nadu, all but the last 1 chapter is the only one that spoke about Tamil kings and Tamil history. The rest all ( I believe 9), spoke about Arab rulers(mostly), British rulers, international dictators, imperialism and colonization. Why are we avoided from studing our own history??? Teaching the children that we are ruled by outsiders is only going to increase the slave mentality in them, not the patriotism. I hope those chapters and syllabuses are revised now..

Cholas built 1000 of magnificent temples which tells the history of our culture and heritage. Such great, rich history was reduced to a page or two, where as the invaders like Akbar, Babar Alexander were given a large space in the history of India. It's the right to reinvent our history and our pride. Thank you Palki Sharma for such a great informative episode. I am your big fan, everyday I come to you tube looking for ur videos❤️

The English word "navy" itself was dervied from the tamil word நாவாய் (Naavai). In Latin it's called Navia. It's the same with the word Catamaran. It was derived from the tamil world கட்டுமரம் (kattumaram).

Most of the indian words call it the same. Nav. Its also a Sanskrit word so don't say its taken from tamil itself. Most of the English words are taken from Sanskrit as many of them studied sanskrit, translated it in English and also used the ancient Vedic knowledge for inventions. None of them understood or studied Tamil fyi🙌

The Navy itself comes from Tamil word Navai. Even the Pandyas had the emissaries in Greek and Roman Kingdom. Greeks and Romans are working in TamilNadu as BodyGuards and Traders. The half of the world economies were in the hands of India (Southern Part of land Greater TamilNadu) and china each 25% in the past millennium (read French Economist). Columbus on trying to find sea route to this land end up in America. The Europeans came to this land to flourish their trades capture the land because of the political Turmoil (after the decline Chera Chola Pandiyas). The Letteris and Numbers are given by these people, 300 years before the so called Ashoka Bhrami All these facts are pushed under Blanket in the name of Sanskritisation and Hindi Nationalism. The Archeological Society of India doing the tremendous work to put the Blankets. Anyway Thanks for bringing up to the limelight.

The sad part is we first came to know about the cholas from a fiction novel written by the great Tamil writer Kalki in the 50s who recreated the journey back in time in the most stunning way and based on which the movies PS1 and PS2 where released. One must visit the Brahadeshwara temple in one’s lifetime to experience the grandeur and outstanding architecture. Ideally some symbol the cholas like the tiger flag or coin etcshould be part of Indian navy flag…

@@mudshovel290Colonisation is different and conquest different. Plunder is associated with colonisation. Conquest is a good thing in a world where people rape the citizens, impose their culture, plunder the wealth and destroy the local culture. Cholas never did that which itself is something praiseworthy. When most of the world brought suffering to the conquered lands, cholas enriched conquered lands. They are the role models even for current generation.
