I visit Taiwan 3 to 4 times a year. Whenever I’m there, I’d eat as much fruits as possible. I think it’s the soil that helps to produce really sweet Frits. The pineapple is my favourite. The best places to buy relatively cheap and good fruits are the markets. Don’t buy them from their night markets because those are the places tourists frequent.

According to someone I know, pineapples lose about half their sugars by the time they reach market. A pineapple straight out of the ground is best. I can't say about other fruits but often times I feel that they are picked prior to ripening so they don't spoil during shipment. Fruit left to ripen on the vine or tree is always best.
