Here's the next episode of Chordplay with The Mellow Side of Opeth. Mikael Åkerfeldt and Opeth's music has really impressed me over the years, as they've moved from a full-on Swedish death metal band to a progressive metal band, and eventually morphed into a progressive rock band without really missing a beat, and have shown a depth of musical style, influence, and taste through the decades.
You can tell the direction the band is currently residing is where Mikael wants things to be, and I salute him for the drastic changes in Opeth's sound and overall direction.
This lesson features a series of selected chords from various Opeth songs/albums and reveals a selection of electric and acoustic guitar chordal flavors, as their music moves between these two textures and sonic worlds often.
