Great to hear from you again! I agree, it's clear when a creator's heart isn't in it. Your genuineness (genuinity??) is one of the reasons I love your videos! You should post as much or as little as you want to. Also, I gasped at the photo of you with Mrs. Maisel herself! I would love to see a video about your acting!

Love your new move & wishing you well. Brooklyn is awesome for young people! When we were remodeling our basement, we used light boxes on the walls (flat light fixtures) to replicate the sunlight coming in from windows. Maybe a solution for your bedroom lighting? Just having the light source at eye level helps so much.

Ho Tate, its good to see ya! Just gotta say I'm gay and both my wife and I each collect plants (she collects fittonia and I collect everything else, lol) but I know just as many if not more straight people who also grow plants. I think its just such a rewarding hobby♡ I'm happy that you are getting all settled in and hope that new job comes through.

Yes, tell us what you’ve been in and all of the tea!! For your Compacta, if you can get a little spray bottle and fill it with 90% alcohol, spray the crap out of the inside of the leaves and that will kill the mealy bugs. For the larger leaf plants, it’s easier to use a makeup pad with alcohol on it to wipe the leaves down. It was fun getting to know more about you! Thank you for sharing! 💜💚🪴🌵 Editing to add: Don’t rinse off the alcohol or pest spray. The point of it is to kill the bugs. If you take it off, you leave them open to pests. I’ve never had a negative reaction to any of my plants/leaves from alcohol and Neem Oil. I spray the crap out of them and let it dry on the leaves. It only gets “wiped” off when I water them and rinse the leaves off (I water in the sink and rinse the leaves to get rid of dust and any pests that may be trying to get on the plants).

Morning Tate! Completely understand about not wanting to do something when your heart isn't in it. Thanks for sharing with us when you have the spoons. As for queer folx being more into plants - I feel ppl with an interest in nurturing like plants. There are some of us queer folx that are self absorbed and afraid of dirt so I don't think it's that. Think it's a coincidence bc we're people and and can be found everywhere doing everything.

I would chop & prop the global green if it were mine to make a much fuller pot but that's just what I like to do...lol I think it would also look very cute on a pole climbing up. Do whatever you're feeling Tate! Either way it's a beautiful plant!! I just scored a full 6 inch pot from Lowes of global green last week!

Have you considered using a systemic, like Bonide Systemic, to treat your houseplants?

I lived in Maurer, Wood, and 815. The room in 815 was a double with it's own bathroom (with a bathtub!) but I had it for 3/4's of my Junior year and the Spring of my Senior year as a single! What dorms were you in?

You don’t sound naive talking about how much time it takes cooking, I moved out from my parent’s house a year ago and I still feel like cooking takes up so much time haha I don’t think it ever goes away

My first pest occurrence was spider mites early in my plant keeping life. The second occurrence was also spider mites on all 3 of my alocasias . The most recent pest occurrence was meely bugs on my hoya crimson Queen and pubicalyx. Currently pest free for now lol the damn mites were by far the toughest one to get rid of
