Sean Ryan I definitely agree Sean. Vedder will always have a special place in my heart but for some reason lately I've been digging Cornell's stuff. I was always a big fan of Soundgarden anyway.

+joe leoni I think Cornells voice held up a little better than Eddies but only bc of the songs PJ put out at first like Alive and all those, he strained w/o thinking...they were just kids... and he put his voice and everything he had into each performance, they toured forever.. I feel bad for him in that way! I think hes still a damn good vocalist! Chris C voice got more down time and songs werent and hard on his vocal chords! Eddie was just like AAGHHHHHHH, lol, ( not being mean to either one, I love both of these guys)! Btw someone just took my It doesnt get EDDIE VEDDER than this shirt and im pissed : ÷/

I understand you're not being mean to either one, but I think Eddie Vedder's voice held up alot better than Chris's. In my opinion it's exactly the other way around. Don't forget this particular performance is 9 years ago, there's not much left of that 90s voice these days. He's still a great vocalist, but it's just alot diffrent and less intense.

Andy Reinisch The thing is that I think his lyrics have always meant something he was personally reconciling. We're are always battling until we aren't, right? Almost all of his songs that weren't directly written about other people seem to be a notation on life in the balance or death. That's one of the many reasons his music has always been like a best friend to me. I've philosophized or battled with same ghosts. I'm getting his likeness on my arm in January because his music has spoken to me for 25 years and that's longer then most people.

truly sad. He was married here, and I think both his daughters would've been born at this stage (assuming this is around 2007-8?)... so in 2017 he was still in the same situation... he had so much to live for - it just adds speculation that he didn't intend to do it. I can't watch the vids of their final performance, but apparently he was really 'off' in that show, something was definitely wrong with him that night.
@nothx962
5 жыл бұрын
@@GlennSyndallius yeah he was in the middle of a severe benzo addiction. Ive battled heroin and benzos both...benzos make you act on things you normally wouldnt do. I told my girlfriends dad he was a fuck ass and tried fighting him in the street over 2 ice cream sandwiches in a xanax blackout. Not even joking, though that specific reference is funny. As someone who also battles depression like Chris, the benzos work...make you loose and fearless...until they dont. Then your just numb and fearless, and in a depressive episode or a fit of anger you could definitely commit suicide or wakeup handcuffed to a hospital bed. It happens alot sadly...but like opiates, the doctors are pulling millions of ppls prescriptions to them...which wont help the problem because that just creates a market for dealers to make their own with a pill press. You can also die from withdrawling from them. Fuck Ativan, Xanax, Klonopin and Valium. They bandaid the problem until its too late...just like opiates.
@whodearmedearnodear
4 жыл бұрын
@@nothx962 hmmmm, but did he really have enough in his system for such a fatal decision?. And if he was into the benzos, surely his threshold would have been much higher. Sometimes even those closest to us have absolutely no idea of what is going on in our heads. My thoughts are having struggled with various addictions he possibly thought he could never beat it and so...Having parents who were alcoholics wouldn't have helped. Nature or nurture..we will never know

This performance means so much to me. Back in 2011, this was the only version of the song I could get on the KZitem app on my Nokia E71. I listened to it incessantly. I was convinced this song had the best vocal part ever. It shaped so much of my musical tastes as a 14-year-old boy. If we're a product of our environment, then Chris and his music helped shape who I am today. Thank you, Chris, as the third anniversary of your passing nears. As if I had the time - and I don't - I find myself watching this every few days. I don't know what it is: Perhaps it's a longing for rock as it was until the early to mid-90s. I'm a child of the 60s and 70s, and the 80s, for the most part, was a lost decade. The bands that emerged in the early 90s resurrected - for me - a sound I'd been longing for. Now, on the verge of 2011, I wonder...are we just left with memories?

The Happy version of this song- Come with me into a desert As thirsty as you are, I’ve got snacks and water and Plenty of alcohol Cause here right now the truth is shining, Right in front of your face, Point yourself in the right direction, And keep a forward pace Oh, bro there we go, Out in this cool world, the stars do twirl, The stars do twirl, I love my life today, I want to help you, You can find god today, it can do it too, Clear your mind and free your heart, I see your integrity, Religions wrong and hate spreads on dividing the you’s and me’s, So love yourself and love your health, And love everything you love, Cause when you are gone, your love will live on, And stays with you and me, I love my life today, I want to help you, You can find god today, it can do it too, Live and let live they say, just a phrase to light the way, You can find god today, I want to help you, Just the way I’d like to be, Just a beacon guiding on, Just a light you want to see, Before you are gone, So come with me into the desert We’ll see a shooting star Where we make some plans to help better the planet Change the ending from near to far Oh, bro there we go, Out in this cool world, the stars do twirl, The stars do twirl, I love my life today, I want to help you, You can find god today, it can do it too, Live and let live they say, just a phrase to light the way, You can find god today, I want to help you, Yeah, I want to help you - I’ve been making Warzone parodies for about 6 months. Recently decided to switch it up. Hopefully this song doesn’t offend you. I TRULY love EVERY WORD of the original song. It’s a masterpiece. My song is for fun. Also, I talk about God in the song. It’s not the Bible God. I had a giant eye appear before me sober in a sensory deprivation tank. It was life changing. That’s the God I’m talking about. Somethings out there people. You know you’re going to die one day, so try to make the most out of your life. Enjoy it, be kind, and try to help others who are less fortunate. That’s all I’m saying. Hey!! I’ve dealt with depression/drug addiction for many years. If you ever want to talk I’m live pretty much every day. Come say hello and let’s chat:) positive energy, peace and blessings to you!

Follow me into the desert As thirsty as you are Crack a smile and cut your mouth And drown in alcohol Cause down below the truth is lying Beneath the riverbed So quench yourself and drink the water That flows below her head Oh, no there she goes Out in the sunshine the sun is mine I shot my love today, would you cry for me I lost my head again, would you lie for me I left her in the sand just a burden in my hand I lost my head again, would you cry for me Close your eyes and bow your head I need a little sympathy Cause fear is strong and love's for everyone Who isn't me So kill your health and kill yourself And kill everything you love And if you live you can fall to pieces And suffer with my ghost Just a burden in my hand Just an anchor on my heart Just a tumor in my head And I'm in the dark So follow me into the desert As desperate as you are Where the moon is glued to a picture of heaven And all the little pigs have God
