Not any other celebs death affected me so much as this guy's. Way too soon, stuff he wrote and performed got me through some really tough times, spoke to our generation best of all the grunge.

He was a creative genius. He made sure that ALL of his music was exactly the way he was in his emotions and mind set which included those of his band mates as well.. or any other musicians who accompanied him. He was able to make everything work music wise. It's sad that he couldn't do that in his private life. I LOVE you Chris! I hope to see you on the flip side of life. Until then my bro.❤

Not just a brilliant artist but a great communicator/ conversationalist. Listening to how comfortable he sounds with the darker forces that drove his creativity makes it even harder to wrap my head around his tragic end,. This was someone who harnessed his darker side to powerful effect but was ultimately overpowered by those demons. Depression doesn't care how smart, successful and brilliant you are. Thank you for for rocking so long and blessing us with your beautiful art, Chris. RIP.

i dont disagree with the accolades, friend. But - i do disagree that the darkness got him. He should have given in to it. [Which means POWER] Not ran out of steam trying to pretend he wasn't OF The Darkness. [See: solo and hybrid career. Or - this video... The dissonance felt - must have been massive throughout, for him. But he faked it with the phonies like the best of em.] Normie expectations and the Chester glamor wife clubs [if u know what i mean, here; congrats.] are a b word... Satan dont hurt. that crap does. Adelina30 ~ you said it when you said you liked him more than you realized, same here. I'd always really liked him and all of the band he played in but when I heard he was killed, and that's what I belive, it tore me up! I felt it before the day was over that he was murdered. What kind of investigation of a world known and loved star, for lack of a better word, wraps up in an hour and a half!? They do more investigating of a homeless crack head than they did him!! that was BULLSHIT!!! And that's when I knew he'd been murdered. But I've noticed 100's if not 1000's feel exactly the same way. His death was different, you can literally since it in your gut that theres something's wrong with the picture and it's not going away! It isn't being forgotten or let go but I think actually gaining more attention! Same with Chester Bennington! Dying "the same way" on Chrises birthday! His good friend and Godfather to little Chris! Nope, not buying one thing about it. Take care and keep planting the seeds.

I suffer with seasonal depression. As I get older the seasons seem to get longer. That being said, I will never understand how such a beautiful, handsom, AWESOME mind could get himself to the point where he could look in a mirror and want to be GONE. Especially with a loving wife and those beautiful kids. My daughter IS my will to love/ live every day. Obviously I don't fully grasp the depths one can reach. Recently heard he had chemicals in his system. That I can see motivating someone beyond sense and will but man, some things are just inexplicable and his death to me is one of those. We all miss you Chris. But believe me you're still here in our memories. If I hear anything from Superunknown I'm 19 again walking nearby my grandparents place I was staying in the country in Florida. Harder stuff takes me to a blurry memory of Lalapalooza in NY in 96. Thank you for providing the landscape for so many great moments in my life Sir. Also heard he wrote Black Hole Sun while traveling from a town I lived in in Washington, back to Seattle. Dk why exactly but man I get a kick outta that!

We need to recognize and start trying to do more. 💔🌹 I'm also so tired of hearing it's a conspiracy. Just STOP! Remember these two human beings who gave so much of themselves have family that are mourning. These two guys are more than a just celebrities. I watch interview upon interview of him since his death, and I've come to the conclusion that it all makes no sense. This guy had so much to live for. Something had to have gone seriously awry. I never get caught up in celebrity deaths, but honestly I find this one so hard to swallow. I can't help but feel that this wasn't supposed to be his fate. The strange thing is, there is one other time in my life where I felt this way. It's when Jeff Buckley died, which is ironic considering the two were friends and Buckley's death certainly impacted Cornell in a big way.

You know when I listen to Chris speak , and Ive listened to every interview out there ..it baffles me how a man with such precision and ease with words , he is so articulate , so knowledgeable..such a poet and phenomenal lyricist , its so baffling , disconcerting ,how someone of his God given talent ,somehow ,somewhere deep in his mental soul , his psyche it didnt seem to be enough , , or he felt unworthy , unhappy ,uncontent , to the point where he felt he no longer wanted to live ..this just has never made any sense to me , Chris loved his children, his wife , his band brothers from each band he was an intricate part of, but , did Chris Cornell not live himself ? Its so hard to digest , of all the musicians / singers we've lost , losing Chris has been the most bitter pill to swallow...to say I miss him seems so incomplete..Wherever Chris is today , I hope he found peace the missing piece of his time here with us ..No one sings like him anymore..😎❤🎤☉😢🎶🎧💋☮...

At points, yes, but that criminally prescribed Ativan was the trigger. Damn those doctors that prescribed an addictive drug that can cause dramatically increased anxiety over the long haul, and suicidal impulses, and should never be prescribed long-term, especially for a former addict and depressive such as Chris was. This information comes straight from the drug maker's own website, as well as many others, not to mention experts such as Dr. Drew Pinsky.

It was a weird dream. Him myself and other random people were trapped in this huge house with 10 flights of stairs. I told him to wait right there let me take a picture of you and I for my friend. First dream was last year weeks after he died, he performed a song for me and gave me a hug.

C. C. Ikd what it was why he passed away.I dont think suicide is that far off because his lyrics and videos were a bitt dark aswell. Not all of them but for example - Like a stone- i thought it was a lovesong but in fact it was a song about death. And in several videos Chris commited suicide so yeah idk what it was why he passed away but suicide and death was a returning topic of his music and videos. He did hang himself in what i.know for sure 2 videos...thats waaaaay too much a normale person who fears death wouldnt have done that ,that many times. He hade a admiration for the concept of death and at least a fascination and longing " in your house i long to be, room.by room patiently i waight for you there like a stone.I waight for your there alone" Like a Stone - Audioslave

I held off watching anything but music from Chris for a long time after his death. This is the first non-music thing I've seen with him.

It's odd because he sounds like a film director here. Bet he could have tackled the industry.

We just love you, Chris. If love could have saved you, it would have. If I could have rescued you the night I talked with you, I would have (see my picture). If I could go back, I'd demand to hang after the show and go on tour with you and find you all the help you need. To demand you take time off and rest and ... it hurts. but my pain is echoed by millions... so.

He is just one more recording artist we lost too soon, it is always the ones with super talent to get taken from us, he like others so above average, the writing the looks, presence, with so much more in them. They experience things deeply and are tormented, I understand as a complicated person myself. I think Chris needed movie roles for sure.

The world could simply not hold this much sheer presence of pure heart, soul and beauty. Likewise, he could not exist to simply exist. In his mind it was this, and his ache to change what this word had become.
