It's simple really, critics don't have a fucking clue what they're talking about. You just have to look at the disparity between critic and audience scores on rotten tomatoes to see that, a lot of critics allow their pockets and political opinions to influence their reviews, and they often aspire to swim in the circles of utmost snobbery which is why they always find some convoluted way to explain why they don't like a particular thing and throw disproportionate praise towards anything "stunning and brave". This song is one of the classic Bond themes, probably somewhere around 5th place, critics are morons.

hankock09 It's more related to a Chris Cornell rock song more than it's related to james bond. It's bond for like the first 10 seconds, but once he starts singing, it's a really catchy rock song. Not like Goldfinger, a perfect bond song. Skyfall was in line with that kind of music. Even Sheryll Crow had a song similar to her style , but still felt like a bond song. This is like how Nobody Does it Better is a great song, but doesn't sound like a Bond song.

I think I can understand the conflict about Chris’s contribution to the Bond musical legacy. Personally, I think it’s right up there with Dame Shirley Bassey’s Bond Songs. (Rare to get to do one, she’s done multiples.) By Casino Royals, we know who Bond is; or we at least think we do, conditioned by four decades of films. But this is the first time we truly meet him, when he is simply James Bond and not Bond, James Bond. Chris’s song fits that. We know his name, he’s still discovering it and becoming the charming, dangerous man we’ve known for so long.

If you take a life do you know what you'll give? Odds are you won't like what it is When the storm arrives would you be seen with me By the merciless eyes of deceit? I've seen angels fall from blinding heights But you yourself are nothing so divine Just next in line Arm yourself because no-one else here will save you The odds will betray you And I will replace you You can't deny the prize it may never fulfill you It longs to kill you Are you willing to die? The coldest blood runs through my veins You know my name If you come inside things will not be the same When you return to the night And if you think you've won you never saw me change The game that we've all been playing I've seen diamonds cut through harder men Than you yourself but if you must pretend You may meet your end Arm yourself because no-one else here will save you The odds will betray you And I will replace you You can't deny the prize it may never fulfill you It longs to kill you Are you willing to die? The coldest blood runs through my veins Try to hide your hand Forget how to feel (forget how to feel) Life is gone with just a spin of the wheel (spin of the wheel) Arm yourself because no-one else here will save you The odds will betray you And I will replace you You can't deny the prize it may never fulfill you It longs to kill you Are you willing to die? The coldest blood runs through my veins You know my name You know my name You know my name You know my name You know my name You know my name You know my name

Aside from being gorgeous this is the ONLY Janes Bond song that had me mesmerized and I instantly had to see who sang it. Really Really best James Bond song ever and Great song in no matter where it’s played! Loved loved loved! Critics R just one person with THEIR OPINION any some just don’t know what the fuck they R talking about! Again gorgeous, gorgeous singer! Maybe critic R just jealous because they can’t sing or do anything else. Now I’m going back to listen to his song over and over while I have some fantasies!!!
