Awesome. Just awesome. I love old wooden boats. There's nothing like them. Thank you for keeping another afloat. The satisfaction you and your family must have felt is probably indescribable.

WOW!! That’s some vintage boat, what a magnificent restoration! As if the KZitem visual wasn’t enough, watching with vintage Clapton in the background made it just a little more special :-) Hope you have been enjoying that beauty out on the lake. Between the video of your beautiful boat and some other videos I’ve seen, I’m convinced I need to get myself a striping wheel and execute that extra striping detail for my little 1962 Ideal Craft. Happy boating!!

The chainfall is attached to the bearing, which lifts the pipe. The boat is turned by an electric cable lift attached to the ceiling rafters. Get Don Danenberg's book "How to restore your wooden boat" I used it from start to finish on the restoration.

Make sure you reply to my post above and let me know when you post that video. I'd love to see it. Are you out of NH? I'm just south in MA if that's the case and will be starting a 25ft runabout from scratch in the next year, so getting as much inspiration as possible and would love to see your supersport. Is it also a restoration?

The stringers, a few deck frames, hardware (steering/prop shaft, chrome etc.) was about all that was saved from original. It sat outside for 20+ years before I bought it. Rot and ants did a number on it....

beautiful boat, can't beat the look of stained wood boat. quick question though what is the pink stuff on the stringers when you were framing it up? I've got a 1978 thunderbird. it's fiberglass but has quite a bit of wood work and some of it had pink stuff on it. I pressure washed it off but now seeing it on yours wondering what is is.

Mahogany colored 3-M 5200 caulking. Messy stuff, gets everywhere. It is used for bedding the wood together.

Hi - I have a hull turning coming up and am sitting here admiring your rig. Can you tell me, at 0:50, you are pulling the chainfall. What are you pulling - is it lifting your pipe bearing? Is it to keep the boat off the ground, or is it actually 'turning' the boat as you pull on the chainfall? Thank you.

Yr video was really enjoyable, but what ruined it for me was when I seen that water coming out of the exhaust & knew she'd been fired up & you had that music in the beginning but the real music you silenced at the shop & in the water! What were you thinking? ? ? Almost had to give it a Thumbs down but she didn't deserve that, but the camera man &whoever silenced it does!!!

Lovely restoration ! I can't however, for the life of me, believe that the heavenly throaty sound of the Connie engine was allowed to exist with BACKGROUND MUSIC!!!!! Hence, had to give the video a thumbs down. :(
