One of the best watches ever. How Chris pulled back-AMAZING.

I don't think Chris liked Golarsa hitting the balls across the court in front of her. I think she probably felt very satisfied by the last point on many levels.

Go Lara’s gave her junk on each shot, sliced , hit short which threw off Evert while the occasion got to her a bit losing that second set. At 5-3 Golarsa serving at 30-0 Chris came up with the finest 3 points of her career.the third one an unbelievable shot around the post. This was Everts last match win at Wimbledon and finished on Centre Court where she belonged.

Golarsa forget the 'book' on Evert, written in the early/ mid 70's (Mary Anne Eisel, Margaret Court, virginia, Evonne, Martina) . If you are winning and she has lost confidence in every other part of her game, she never really loses confidence in that backhand pass/ return. its on automatic pilot. Do NOT approach that wing or volley to it. Evert's backhand kissed the lines in three consecutive vital points at 2-4. It never missed target thereafter. The rest of her game soon followed. This was the most lethal pass/return in our sport until Graf's forehand showed up.

It was not that Chris played badly to lose the second set and get down in the third, and it wasn't that Golarsa played badly that Chris came back.
