@@chioma3100 That's pretty much where I'm at too. It sure looks bleak, though. I don't think many people are aware that the federal government has decided that disabled people should be able to get by on $791/month (SSI). Without explanation, as soon as my SSDI benefits started in February, they sent me a letter saying they were docking me down to $720/mo until April 2020. The section where it was supposed to explain the reason was completely blank, literally. And there's nothing I can do; They hold all the power. I get a whopping $39 in snap, too. What a feast. With no family to lean on, much less live with and share expenses with, I now know first-hand that the despair Chris Hedges describes is 100% accurate. Independent media and the Progressive movement gives me hope, though. I know things can be different, and that we've got people. ✊ I don't know your situation, but I genuinely hope you catch a break and you're able to turn things around. Cory Beatbox I was talking with a guy in SE Asia a fews years ago. There was poverty all round us and the occasional Flash of a grotesque wealth in the form of a top of the range European sports car etc. He explained that these flashes of wealth are glimpses of the immense local power wielded in every walk of life by the local 'in-group' ie Mafia. He then explained that everyone is against the Mafia until one is invited inside. Chris Hedges is NOT for sale but the the politicians judges and state employees in the USA are already bought. To me the Democrats are the more vile; a bunch of mealy-mouthed virtue signallers. Jimmy Dore is being vilified now by the lefty bloggers and utubers because he is exposing their fakery.

You never know when an underground revolt is building towards a tipping point because people have had enough, a tipping point of sorts, now at the end of 2014, we seem to be approaching a tipping point. I believe any attempt at a violence based revolution would very probably be mercilessly crushed and would be counterproductive to the overall goal of a peaceful and socially just world. There is the added effect of the shredding of trust that helps to break down society. It is in place and has been for some time. 24/7 internet and phone.

Because of modern technology and transnational corporations, it's unlikely that this new, world empire of masters and serfs will quickly be replaced by something else.
