This knife is made in America, not China. The build tolerances are measured within two ten thousandths of an inch (for example between .1577 and .1575). Quality control in production is clearly visible. It is made out of titanium and has a high quality blade. The knife can be fully disassembled, cleaned, and lubed by the owner, and it has brass washers on the blade pivot. It is worth every penny of $400 USD.

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I would respectfully disagree. It is a very well made knife, as I noted, but so are Benchmade and Buck. Both have really high grade steel for their blades and close tolerances too. I suspect not as tight, but I don't think I could make a strong case that it matters with my use of the knives. To me, it's not worth the difference, but if it is to you, then good enough. Reeve Knives have a loyal following, so obviously, to many people it is worth it. Thanks for watching!

NOT a liner lock, it’s clearly a frame lock, or, to be precise, Chris Reeve Integral lock (which he invented, BTW). You really should know this and the history bit as a “reviever”. Also, comparing Chris Reeve guality to Benchmade which has QC issues for some time and isn’t nearly as precisely machined and put together, speaks for itself. As for it feeling smazing, well, it’s a knife. And as such, there are not many (if any) producrion knives that come close CR quality and design wise. The difference between S30v and S35VN is mainly (from my experoences) in sharpening. But, the main thing is if you are not able to appreciate the craftmanship that went into this knife, don’t buy it. And comparing it tu Buck? Come on. Thumbs down for this review...

Well, Thanks for watching and your comments. I can appreciate your passion for the brand, as there seems to be few that create as much as CR. Having said that, I will respectfully disagree. Here's how I look at things... if one was to visit the Sistine Chapel, no one needs to be taught art appreciation. If you look up, you'll go "Wow"! I don't care what the name of the lock mechanism is, or who invented it... it's function is that of a liner lock, nothing more and nothing less. To use a specific name makes you look like you work for the company or are not able to be objective, so I tend not to do that in reviews. As for comparing to other brands, the point is, there's no "wow" factor to me that justifies the price. As I talked about, it is a very nicely made knife and worth some premium, but not as much as it sells for as far as I'm concerned. But, to each his own. If you like them and believe it's worth the cost, then fantastic, you'll be happy with the purchase. As for me and as a choice for an EDC, my Benchmade and Buck knives work every bit as well, at about 1/4 the cost. Thanks again for watching and your comments.

MrConcrt well, I agree to disagree. BUT, there is a difference between a liner lock and a frame lock, regardless of who invented it. It’s good to have your facts straight when reviewing knives, because it adds to your competence in the eyes of the audience. This way, you come across as someone who doesn’t know what he is talking about. I am not an CR fanboy and I agree their knives are somewhat overpriced, but have seen plenty of Benchmades with QC issues (uneven grinds, bad blade centering etc.), so in my opinion, they can be compared roughly in the same way a Toyota can be compared to a Ferrari. Will it get you there for a fraction of the price? Yes. But with Ferrari, you pay for all that extra work, knowledge and effort (and performance) which makes it special.
