So, I've heard this song (or most of it) a time or two in the last week or so....wanted to hear all of it. I've been reading some of the comments and really more like stories of other listeners...... man, i shed tears for each and every one of you all. I guess these days we've all suffered tragedies. Loss is part of life, and as hard as it is for us who are left behind, since we cannot change it, maybe we can cope if we look at it as a beautiful, setting a soul free of earthly torment-type experience...... and have faith that we'll see those we love again. I said to a friend of mine, a few months ago, when I was talking about music and how much I loved it and how powerful it can be....and I said, "I think music can be the universal language of peace." .... Well, it's definitely powerful and I know of no culture that does not use/practice some form of music.....

When I lost my brother in 1999 he was 31 years old suddenly ( found him after 14 days ) and our mom was ICU , I was told she was too weak to tell her and to wait .. so each day passed ....and now 2 weeks and she's strong enough to know her son has not been around an something was wrong with me .. we knew we had to tell her .. I started to tell her and she said I know .. he's gone .. and she told me she loved me and that I was always the strong one I’ll be ok ..but he needed her cause he’s alone... she still in ICU an my 8 year old son an I left she fell asleep and never woke up , she passed away 2 weeks later ... all I have to say is a MOTHER KNOWS ... ITS NOT NATURAL WHEN A CHILD GOES FIRST ... NO MATER WHAT AGE.... It will be 19 years , Feb 22 for my brother and 19 years , March 19 for my mom just 4 days after her 63 birthday ( March 15) still seem like yesterday ..

Once again... Thank y'all from the bottom of my heart. What I didn't know when I posted this was that the driver of the car was drinking and driving and he and another passenger survived the accident. My cousin did not. Amber Dawn would've turned 25 on March 31. My oldest daughter just turned 25 on March 14. Makes you count your blessings and at the same time ask the famous question "why"? Four years ago I lost another cousin to a drunk driver, 7 yrs old while playing in his front yard. I just wished people would realize the dangers of drinking and driving and not do it.

I can't really make out the words that well. Is there an official video and lyrics for this? I am now 28, I lost my girlfriend who was three months pregnant with our baby girl when we were both 19. Her and her mother were killed by her mother's crackhead boyfriend one weekend when I was away visiting family in my hometown. Two years ago I lost one of the best friends I grew up with all through high school who I used to have deep conversations with because we were the only two out of our friends that could have long and deep meaningful conversations about life and helping each other, always having each other's backs no matter what, through thick and thin. That old country song "Who your friends are" was something we used to play in the truck and when some real shit would go down we knew we had each other's backs. So I ask, because I'd like to wait and listen to this song here when I can get the lyrics, would this song suit everything I've just described?

Seen my share of broken halos, Folded wings that used to fly. They're all gone where ever they go, Broken Halos that used to shine. Angels come down from the heavens, Just to help us on our way. They come to teach us then they leave us, And they find some other soul to save. Seen my share of broken halos, Folded wings that used to fly. They're all gone where ever they go, Broken Halos that used to shine. Broken Halos that used to shine. Don't go lookin for the reasons, Don't go askin Jesus why. We're not meant to know the answers, They belong to the by-and-by. They belong to the by-and-by. Seen my share of broken halos, Folded wings that used to fly. They're all gone where ever they go, Broken Halos that used to shine. Broken Halos that used to shine. Broken Halos that used to shine. Broken Halos that used to shine.

Reminds me of my best friend Pat Smith, like Chris states here about his best friend, we too grew up playing little league, then golf, then fishing, etc. We lost Pat back in 2014 from complications during his second kidney transplant. All this had happened since we had graduated H.S. 21 years earlier. When God was picking buddies he gave me the best no doubt, hands down. He never complained and worked over 40 hrs a week up until he passed! And the last 4 years he worked 40 + a week and still managed to get 4 hours of dialysis in per day, 3 days week! The man had been eligible for disability since he was 19 and died at the age of 38 without accepting a dime from anyone. God sure showed favor on me when he placed him in my life as a perfect example to live by!!!! Missing you a lot here lately ol buddy, I'll catch ya on the flip side R.I.P.

First time I've heard this song and it has me in tears. My brother took his own life at 28yrs..the lyric "don't go looking for the reasons, don't go asking Jesus why.." I'm guilty of both. And this man essentially released this song early because it was a perfect fit for the fundraiser. God bless him.

bill brody I’ve never been guilty of both, until four days ago. Not even when I lost my sister, and I loved her more than anything. We’ve lost five in the past two years on my Dad’s side. It’s been occurring like this for about five years. Over and over. All under 60. The last one was four days ago, and it broke me and I asked the same question. Yesterday, this was the first song played at his funeral. That lyric stuck with me as well.

Keith Pitreski my dad died 17 years ago when he was in his early 50's from a heart attack. I still "talk" to him all the time. Usually when I'm in the garage trying to fix something he could fix with ease. I never listened to him much back then, but I sure listen to him now. My dad would've loved CS. After 17 years I still miss him terribly. I definitely would love that 5 minutes as well.

For me it's a beautiful reminder of all my beloved family and best friend who has suffered the pain of cancer and some who addiction took a firm hold and never let go . I thank you C.S. for giving us , the ones who remain ,a song that speaks truth and gives peace too our souls , we grieve ,but.. we live on in their memory .
