The cool thing about this apology is this: 1. It’s actually Christian Bale apologizing. He’s taking full responsibility for it. 2. He’s calling a local radio station to explain what happened to people who cheered him up. 3. He didn’t use a publicist or agent to get the message out. 4. He doesn’t want to skirt around the issue or shift blame. 5. He makes the person he had argument like a bigger person and calls him out for being a better person. 6. He doesn’t use his ego or star power to muscle people out. It sounded like a situation that got out of control, and they handled it like gentlemen in the end.

Honestly the most sincere celebrity apology I've ever heard. Usually they go something like "I'm sorry if I offended anyone" as if they're not apologizing for their behavior, but for how people react to it. Bale seemed genuinely ashamed of his actions.

Gideon Garner never happened. What happened was his mom and sister wanted money for whatever reason. An argument broke out when one of them mentioned his wife and the police came and investigated the situation. Bale even brought himself into the police voluntarily not long after and was let go as the police determined no assault ever happened. As a result, he’s not talked to his mother since. He has recently stated that Salvation was one film he really regrets having turned out not as good as he knows it could have been. Also, I enjoyed the film, because it wasn't that time travel non-sense, it was the war I was waiting for since the first film. I really wish they would have just continued on, with Bale, and finally have the resistance win the war. John Conner putting the boot to SkyNet is what I really want. A lot of the comments seem to be excusing his behaviour like 'we've all had angry outbursts' or 'being an actor is stressful'. Maybe being an actor is stressful but there is no excuse for his behaviour. Verbal aggression of any kind is unacceptable, whether among actors, chefs, businesspeople or whoever, regardless of fame or power. Of course anyone can be forgiven if they change their behaviour, so here's hoping he never treats anyone this way again.

As long as you own up to your mistakes, apologize and prevent it from happening again, it’s okay. We all mess up. Unless you've worked on a set, you can't really understand the tension that builds. It's part of the creative process. It even happens with bands working on songs. All enthusiastic artists have a tendency to put their feet in their mouths. Experienced crew, actors, directors, they all understand that and let go of taking things personally when they step into the creative arena. A good director knows that when an actor has hit that point that the actor is on to something vital in character exploration and sometimes has to be a diplomat when managing all the swirling emotions. On the other hand, how an actor behaves offstage or off-screen is his or her responsibility. But working in an industry that requires you to dig down into your deepest fears, hostility, etc. makes you raw beyond belief. That is, if you want to do it well.

Try acting and succeeding at it and then get back to me Dave. I guarantee you'd run away crying like a baby. I praise doctors and nurses every chance I can. They have their own set of stresses related to their work. Granted some actors suck and get rewarded while doing horrible work because they know the right people (cases in point: Adam Sandler and Julia Roberts) and have a cult of personality willing to throw money at them. Your ignorance of how working in the film industry is quite telling. Actors like Christian Bale are paid lots of money because when a movie makes millions of dollars at the box office, video rentals, etc., they have negotiated to receive a portion of the proceeds for that, plus just their regular acting salary. Wouldn't you?

It's really depressing seeing all these fools in this comment section saying almost the exact same thing, barely anyone is able to see the truth which is - BALE DIDN'T HAVE TO APOLOGIZE TO ANYONE EXCEPT THOSE INVOLVED IN THE INCIDENT!! Which he did by the end of the day, he apologized to the whole crew. How in the FUCK can anyone on this planet be "offended" by an actor being pissed in an audio (which wasn't supposed to be released) when it doesn't involve them in any way, shape or form? This is just typical people today who have no power in their daily lives, who don't have control over anything, go to a slave job and go home grumpy, so they vent themselves on things that don't involve them AT ALL, such as a celebrity getting angry.... wow, is that being a loser or is that being a loser? WHO GIVES A SHIT!!! Christian got pissed, so he needs to apologize to the WORLD?! The world is fucking insane. Even if someone was offended, he doesn't owe them an apology because he didn't do anything to them, he wasn't directing anything towards any random person on this planet. People need to grow the fuck up and demand apologies in their own personal lives from people they KNOW instead. They need to take care of those who push them around in THEIR personal lives, they need to stand up against those who offend them on a daily basis, which is often the case with all these idiots saying "Omg, I want Bale to apologize", I bet they would never demand that from most people who bother them in their personal lives. But a celebrity? "Oh sure, that's easy, I'm not really offended but I want him to apologize to me anyway because it allows me to compensate for what I don't dare demanding in my own life." Craziest of all is how almost no one sees these things. People even say here "that was a good and sincere apology". WHAT?! Why did he even have to apologize in the first place? Do you demand these apologies from George Bush for making sure that thousands of people died? Exactly.... therefore, it is undeniable that the world is INSANE. People need to grow the fuck up.

I hope he is sincere . The thing is , he is rich and a movie star , add to that he is good looking .... it is easy to say he was just arrogant . U never know but I think he is sincere in his apology ... there was no trace of “I am doing this cause that is the PC thing to do” .

I can kinda relate to bale on the outbreak part as an artist. I of course am not an artist by any measure but i am really passionate about music and I'm a pretty decent guitarist though i say so myself. When i was younger i used to record tracks of improvisation pieces that I'd burn onto a disc and play in my car. While I was recording this one time, my mom knocked on my door and ruined literally a 5 minute absolutely flawless take. I got so enraged that i literally just lost my fucking mind. I felt like turning the whole god damn house upside down. Just thinking about still agitates me a little bit. To anyone else its totally understandable how it may come off as an overreaction, but god damn you can't recreate art created spontaneously in the moment! Shit I'm remembering it again.. fuck i fucking hated that god damn fucking day. Fucking hell.

So many people now about the rant but I bet the same amount of people haven’t heard this side. Props to Bale, takes a lot to take all the blame for a situation.

Everyone loses it. Not everyone hears it on an international level though. He's hardly the first person to go nuts at work.

He is SUCH A GOOD ACTOR, He could pull off an ACTING JOB on this apology, but I CHOOSE to believe. He was sleep deprived. Intense acting in these scenes. And given his high strung (he may have been on cocaine to achieve this), and that could've resulted in his RANT. Whatever, He was an ACTOR in the MOMENT, trying to ACHIEVE the best scene possible. So given the apology, I give him a pass, though I blamed him for a long while, and it wasn't until the intensity of AMERICAN PSYCHO, that I realize he was an Actor performing his TRADE. So keep up the good work Sir Bale!
