It’s nice to see a nice clean comedian who’s loves Jesus, and I like how true he is about cursing. It’s so sad that cursing is natural, well, just like any other sin. I know we’re all guilty of it, but there’s a big difference between it slipping out and saying it just because.

Also, for those who asked why one word was worse than another: One word can describe it in a baser manner than the other and it seems to be about perspective too. Also, I want to add that when I got saved, Jesus helped me clean up my language pretty quick and when I was moving a couch and tore my big toe nail off, I did not curse. Later, when I wrecked my motorcycle, I was able to call out on the name of God to help me and I'm so glad a curse word is not what popped into my mind first.

My thumb was resting on the bumper and when I swung that hammer to hit the punch that I was holding against the pin, I completely missed and hit my thumb. I dropped the punch and 3 lb hammer and grabbed my thumb. My boss was beside me and saw what happened. He looked at me and asked, "aren't you going to say anything ". @ 3:26 he mentions that we "made up" the middle finger curse. I was told that it came from when captors of Native Americans had them as P.O.W.'s they would cut off their middle fingers, rendering their use of bow and arrows much less effective. As a form of mockery the Native American's captors would walk by where they were being imprisoned and flip them their middle finger to very sadistically torment them. I don't know if this story i heard was true but i always found it a very interesting possible origin of the middle finger curse.

The joke about the doing the middle finger with the whole hand reminds me of this one time during drama club last year, when this one guy (who happened to be in a few of my classes) was literally asking me to flip him off, specifically because I am a goody-two shoes. I keep saying no, so some people from props (the crew i was in) offer to maniplulate one of my hands with their own hands to flip him off, since i would be flipping him off but at the same time it wouldn't be me flipping him off , but still i refused. I do follow God's will (as best I can; I'm a fallen and sinful human being like anyone else). While we're quoting verses, Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter". So think real hard before you let another human being (all of whom are sinful and imperfect, needing salvation through Christ) dictate how you live in relation to God, regardless of their human-granted title.

Bible uses wording instructing not to say things that would hurt a person. So calling someone a stupid head or a fuck head with same intent is the same. Ephesians4:29 Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk [ever] come out of your mouth, but only such [speech] as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God’s favor) to those who hear it.

The middle finger came from English Archers. When an archer was captured and they knew he was an archer they cut off his middle finger so he could no longer shoot his bow. So if an archer was ever undiscovered and or set free they showed the middle finger as an act of defiance that they were an archer and could still kill you.

@MrCalhounr1

No, it is not correct according to Snopes "Despite the lack of motion pictures and television way back in the 15th century, the details of medieval battles such as the one at Agincourt in 1415 did not go unrecorded. Battles were observed and chronicled by heralds who were present at the scene and recorded what they saw, judged who won, and fixed names for the battles. These heralds were not part of the participating armies, but were, as military expert John Keegan describes, members of an "international corporation of experts who regulated civilized warfare." Several heralds, both French and English, were present at the battle of Agincourt, and not one of them (or any later chroniclers of Agincourt) mentioned anything about the French having cut off the fingers of captured English bowman."

Kids are curious and full of wonder (which doesn't have to go away) so stories really intrigue them. Birds have hollow bones and feathers which helps them fly. That's real. Then we get to be teenagers don't obey the always right watching you all the time whether you see them or not who say it's for your safety... And then the representatives make claims on behalf of an invisible man who happens to be the most prevalent god in that state, territory or country. The ones that do know how the system works (which is good) and figure it out (or bend). Imagine the popularity of sun gods if we were aware of matter and stardust when it was popular. By the time we're adults we so much information and we've started a life we're the main focus in. Misinformation or tested/peer reviewed researched information and we can get involved in either. We can build a house, become a scientist, watch comedians/anime/news, we can be the people involved in that. As a species we could blow up the planet, maybe we'll terraform a new one (or many). There may be a god that became like us but was hydrogen in the beginning (although the consciousness involved is astronomically unlikely) making first steps like terraforming which literally means earth shaping. Don't feel shit because you aren't someone else. I'm more on the Futurama type deal. That's one of the few cartoons without an all powerful god(I'm an atheist). Professor Farnsworth witnessed evolution he put in motion but he also saw multiple exact same universes die out and be reborn in 2 big bangs. Did you know a star explodes which results in the beginning of a new galaxy every 100 years? But because there are so many stars a astronomy expert can see three per night.

No one should call anyone an "idiot" because it's sinful to do so. God created great people. Some of them go astray so it's the Christians' jobs to bring them to Christ. A Keep in mind that there are wicked ones called the seed of the serpent also who are so evil that they promote immorality in the society and corrupt systems. May God bless Former indoctrinated atheist, saved by Christ and His children.

I am truly not all thanks to God. I think one should always pray for wisdom and dicernment. Also, how can we love our neighbor, just like He commanded, if we can't respect our neighbor? Plus, I love science and how I can be in awe of my Creator. Of course, it is always important to analyze a piece of data before accepting or rejecting it.

If you don't have the talent to be a successful band, come out as Christian and you'll have a built in audience. I guess the same thing works for comedy. This guy is painfully unfunny. He's Tom Roades bad. This guy sucks on a level I've never seen. Jim Gaffigan is a Christian and he's hilarious so it's not a slam against Christians. It's a slam against unfunny comedians that latch onto a nitch and people show up because they're supposed to.

Marcus Sowinski It depends on whether or not you define being a Christian as "being a follower of Christ". The Roman Catholic church teaches that you have to 'work' (by doing things they claimed the Bible says you must do) to 'earn' being saved from death. Bath then, they could get away with doing that because the general public had no access to the Bible. In contrast, the Bible teaches that eternal life is a free gift to those who believe that Christ is the son of God and that He volunteered to die as us (to save us from the death sentence we've all earned), and that He was resurrected. So, to some people, Christianity is anything that carries the label "Christian" (it sounds like you fall into that category). There are also "Biblical Christians", i.e. Christians who believe that 'following Christ' means paying attention to what Christ said and did, rather than "the traditions of men" - today we call that Religion - Jesus himself was against the 'religion' of His day (see Mark 7:8). BTW, the Protestants were protesting that the Roman Catholics were not following what the Bible said. This could only happen after the invention of the printing press, when lots of people could read the Bible for themselves. It's a bit like telling a population with no access to Shakespeare's works that Romeo & Juliet were famous explorers who invented scissors. The people would have no choice but to believe that, because they can't verify it for themselves.

Its blasphemy to 'say God's name in vein' or curse at God. As words are just sounds that are perceived, some areas (commonly the rural areas) curse words or profane-slang, is a daily thing that doesn't mean anything to each other *unless its spoken out of anger or hatred, then others would be offended. Then its sinning by hating. As the saying goes "Blessed are the peacemakers".
@SpearHeadTheAssault

Yes it's okay! It's word WE made up and a word WE associated a meaning to! Why would that affect the way God sees it? Scripture also say his ways are not our ways and his thoughts are not our thoughts. Culture will change with time and definitions of words will change. Down the road we may create new "curse" words, but does that mean God will say "Oh my! Culture changed again! I had better catch up!" No it doesn't! If we associate a meaning to a made up word, that does not mean God has to agree.
@SpearHeadTheAssault

I think you misinterpreted those passages. Maliciously insulting someone is bad, which is what I believe James 3:11 and your quoted passages mean. But in that case, calling someone a bitch is just as bad as calling someone stupid. It's about cursing people, not cursing in general. There's no reason to believe that saying "This game is fucking hard!" is bad. It's entirely about context. I think you're the one who needs to change your thinking. And yes, I'm also Christian.
@SpearHeadTheAssault

They're not wrong to say. Like I said, insulting someone is bad. But simply saying "Man this game is fucking amazing!" is perfectly fine. People like to blow things up for some reason.
