Never lived near each other. Been long distance for 2.5 years. The plan for when marriage could come has moved so much, but we’re hoping end of next year. Which means engagement may come this year or at least beginning of next year. The only problem is that basically no one (besides my parents) supports us. Our goal is to go into full-time ministry and our families believe that we will not be able to financially thrive and thus we should wait for him to get his master’s and wait 3+ years to get married. Basically until we’re in our mid to late 20s. It’s really hard because we have a good relationship and we both are committed to not only marriage but our calling to ministry. But because it doesn’t seem financially “safe” and/or comfortable, we are told that we should wait a lot longer. So hard to know what to do.

Thank You very much for this sharing. Your smile and emotions deeply communicate to us. God richly bless You to bless more couples and singles in this generation. The marriages are really targeted by the enemy, yet life and some ministry circumstances compel some moments of distance. Praise God for these tips. Beyond all, may God graciously grant us, Young Christian couples today, to remain Faithful to God and to our Spouses. With gratitude, David and Jeannet from the Democratic Republic of Congo DRC
