Shalom brother,the forgiveness of sin by God is already released to us, remember forgiveness is a gifts and one of the gifts of the spirit,so we as Christ Jesus descendants of all races of the world from the time he was giving birth,die n resurrect were forgiven and change from Adam n Eve DNA to his DNA,believer or nonbelievers possesses the forgiveness grace of God through Jesus Christ,thereby meaning if you know he is in u,u wont sin but if u his own stil sin,his forgiveness grace is stil act on u,if u acknowledge ur sin though sin consequences has delt with u already immediately that moment you fell

Even after he became the sacrifice for our sins as you say...john 14:6..Jesus says he is the way to the father..meaning we now receive forgiveness of our sins after salvation through Jesus..."by prayer"....forgiveness doesn't come by default..you pray yourself out of sin ..psalms 51:11 Davids prayer is that God would not take away the holyspirit from him..meaning even after Christ was a sacrifice there is still need for repentance..because we sin day in day out..the holy spirit is in us to convict us of sin so that we pray...

What Paul is talking about"in whom we have received forgiveness"is just an open door for forgiveness that we have through Christ...that in case you find yourself in sin after salvation..you can pray through Christ and receive mercy...remember a door can be open but not everyone will use it to come out...that phrase applies to people who want to turn away from sin..not to those who are comfortable in sin...

@sunnyusoro

You must also remember that he could only teach them what to pray at that moment before he dies as his death was a sacrifice for both past sins and future sins.Now that's how the constant forgiveness comes in. Bible says in whom we have redemption,the forgiveness of sin(Col1:14).Meaning we already have it as we have been redeemed by the blood.

This is heresy. Rms. 8:32, ' He that spared not His own son, but delivered Him for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things that pertain unto life and godliness'. Based on this scripture, not only is forgiveness a gift; but also all things that pertain to life and godliness'. So what Pastor Damina is saying is that we should not even pray at all; full stop. When the LORD Jesus Himself taught us in the Lord's prayer to always ask for forgiveness Mathew 6:12-14. Indeed these are the false teachers teaching what people's itchy hears want to hear in these last days according to 2Timothy 4:3.
