This is a prime example of a band that never reached the mainstream or sold a lot of records while they were active but over time have managed to have an outsize influence on other musicians and the direction of an entire genre of music just by being so goddamned good and standing the test of time with their music alone and none of the marketing or hype.

I had this on vinyl when I lived with my girlfriend in Idaho. We broke up. She left my stuff on the porch. This record wasn't in it. She stole it, along with all my Jawbreaker records. I don't mind. As far as I'm concerned she deserves it for what I put her through.

ALWAYS have three copies of the most important records! It is like the Gay friend said in Sex and the City in response to why he had three therapists : "One for when I wanna be pampered another when I want tough love and the third for when I just wanna look at a beautiful man!" - The same way, three copies. One for yourself! One for the girl you are sleeping with and one for the bitch who slept with everyone except YOU !

Every once in a while a band comes along and changes all your preconceived notions of what's possible when it comes to composing. This band is a god damn miracle

The first time I saw them in Denver at 21st Street and Aparahoe it blew me away. I was a kid and the sound was so big and different for what was happening at the time.

Thanks for the upload Travis!!!!! Fantastic album!!!!! anyone has heard of Aina? is a band from Bcn. They have an album called Sevens that is a masterpiece. The singer, Artur, then created another band called Nueva Vulcano. My favorite album they did is called Juego entrópico. Highly recommended!!!

Dyed On 8 & Long Out. Can someone explain the "clicking". Is that intentional? Sorry....I'm female, just became a big fan of the band and don't know much except what I got to listen to in the late 80's & early 90's....Squirrel Bait/ The Nils/Slint.

David Micheal Williams I wouldn't say "ripped off", rather influenced. Both bands were friends back then, even when Jimmy was still playing punk rock. They did a split 7" together, and Eric Richter did backups on either "World Is Static" or "Digits" on the Static Prevails album. Can't remember. Dozens of bands have tried to emulate CFD to some extent, nearly all have failed in doing so.

it was a joke dude!!...i heard a funny story about jew not being forth coming with cfd about the speed they were playing at the time because they thought they wouldn't want them supporting...i find it weird how huge jimmy eat's became and christie front drive didn't

David Micheal Williams Ha! Sorry, I'm quite used to having to defend that point. If CFD had stuck around, who knows? Or maybe if the '94 record were recorded in a better studio, or even released on a different label? But, even with Static Prevails and Clarity being on a major, both went largely unappreciated for years.

David Micheal Williams I know CFD still play sporadic shows, but if it's ONE band from back then that needs to really get in on this reunion tour/album stuff, it's Christie Front Drive.
