Hear from Indiana Fever head coach Christie Sides, along with Kelsey Mitchell and NaLyssa Smith after their 104-68 blowout loss at New York.
They dropped to 2-9 in the season and just completed a grueling stretch with 11 games in 20 days. That includes two visit to Brooklyn and facing the Liberty, who reached the 2023 WNBA Finals, three times in 11 games.
The Fever shot 37%, including 25% from downtown. They were outscored 31-13 to start the game. Mitchell led the Fever with 21 points, Smith scored 17 and Caitlin Clark had three points on 1 of 10 shooting.
Clark (ear) and Aliyah (left ankle) left the game in the fourth quarter with injuries. No update was shared postgame.
"This isn't a good matchup for us," Sides said. "It's probably the worst team we could've played on a back-to-back with how we're feeling and how are legs are. ... Their legs are shot, they're gassed, so everything was a little short."
