I wanted to make something for the holidays that didn’t feel frumpy on my pregnant body, and even though this project had a million hang ups I wasn’t expecting, I think I succeeded and I love the outcome!
Things I forgot to mention in the video:
To avoid using a zipper or other functional closure at the waist, I measured my bust and added an inch of ease to that for what would become the ‘waist’ measurement of the dress so I could pull it on over my head.
The lining fabric is a sheet bought at the thrift store.
It’s a good thing I didn’t try to recut the bodice because with one whole curtain and the remnants from the bodice curtain I only had enough fabric to pleat the skirt the way I wanted to all the way around by three quarters of an inch.
