The same here - - Cash and Honey does open up the talk. I often ask what size Jars before as they regift a lot . Some just want bulk and love putting in their Jars.

Merry Christmas Ian. Do you also pump water up thru the heat exchanger to flush it out? Seams that would be a good way to heat the water.

I only have one out yard (with four hives) and I give the farmer 10%... Is that too much?🤔🥸

I am thinking this is a relative question. If you harvest 100 pounds and give 10 pounds that is not bad. However, if you harvest 1,000 pounds and give 100 pounds then I am thinking that's a lot.

Efficient system, Ian. Ours is similar butsimpler; our system is also smaller. We pay our honey rent in October, only because folks end up asking for it. But you're right, it is a great way to collect up the gossip.

Curious about the frames n the pallets. Are they double waxed? Or do you add wax to them before using them? I know there would be a big labour cost. Curious about getting them drawn out

Don't the landowners pay you for pollinating their crop?
@ke6gwf
9 ай бұрын
No, that's like the almond orchards in California that need the bees, but the bees don't get any benefits from it. Most crops don't need the honey bees that badly, or produce enough honey to be worth putting the bees there.

@@lt35philacanola and sunflower yields can be increased by having bees there, but both also self pollinate and so paying for bees is not a requirement. Almonds on the other hand only exist because of bees, which is why it's such a big industry.
