I've been wanting to read The Disordered Mind. Kandel also worked on memory, which I find exciting.

I don't know why anyone is not giving me anything this year. Is it their misery or am I getting old? From that perspective, you are so damn lucky bro. Happy Reading BTW

Yeah, I have a very caring circle, luckily! Just buy yourself some books! Never a wrong day to buy books.

Do you give gifts? Try telling them that you wish everyone could give each other gifts.

Iv never really cared wether someone gives me gifts or not. But since I know a few people will give me stuff regardless of wether I say no I simply tell them to at least just do gift cards. If they are gonna get me stuff then at gift cards will ensure I'm getting edtions of books and gamesnid prefer.

The amount of times I received gifts in life that were off base (not books) is reaaaallly high. Lol. But whatever, the act of giving gifts is nice enough alone.

@@IdeasInHat it's nice when they actually mean it, plenty of people only do it to make themselves look good. Same principle as why some people donate to charity, not because they actually care or are nice but to put up this image of being a good person (or as Anton LaVey said 'Pinning a metaphoric good guy badge on themselves').
