Awesome video. Was in Trier for a few days, I've been teaching myself German for 3 years and I love ancient rome history, so this city was perfect for me. Haven't experienced European Christmas markets as a Canadian. It's cool to see someone else appreciate the city and take the time to document it. Cheers.

Thank you for another video! You are one of my favorite KZitemrs. You are so charming! I wonder if you’ve ever watched the KZitem channel free to use sounds? I think the two of you making a video would be adorable! Not A lot of crossover between your two channels, but you remind me of each other

A very nice video. I believe the Chimney Cake origianated in Hungary... and heard folks in Prague say adamantly that Chimney Cakes have nothing to do with their history.

Thank u :)) Unfortunately my german skills haven't improved much. I kept learning but there were a lot of personal stuff happening behind the scenes and i wasnt sure if i will be staying in germany. Thus i kinda stopped, i felt really unmotivated and discouraged :( It doesnt mean i wont try again it's just a difficult journey

Good suggestion, But as i Said to Eli. Dont go to deep with things she doesnt understand. Not talking she doesnt know a lot of history. But if she doesnt know everything, Just talk a little and who likes the place search for it. Of course i agree with You.

Wait do you speak Dutch by any chance? I've always heard Spekulatius being pronounced Spekulazius by Germans, and I remember it's pronounced the way you did in Dutch at least.

loved the video! in Romania we all say/know that the undercooked cake you had ( Kürtőskalács ) is hungarian ( just googled it and it said it was made by the hungarians living in Romania) - your cake was the thickest i have ever seen that's why they undercooked it 😢 but such an amazing thing to eat ❤

I just realized in Hungary we have 99% German culture when it comes to Christmas. Even our bejgli is of German origin. Maybe szaloncukor (sweets on the Christmas tree) is an original Hungarian invention/custom. Chimney cake is Transylvanian Hungarian in origin.
@lilimandula

the earliest version of it called fondantcukor is from 14th century France. it came to Hungary in the 19th century, brought in by Germans. the name szaloncukor comes from the German Salonzuckerl haha. as far as I know, nowadays it is only a thing in Hungary, Romania and Slovakia. (és amúgy egy Hungarikum, úgy hiszem)
