A fantastic song and performance. I love the influences of Todd Rundgren, Pat Metheny, and Steely Dan. That said, Cross blends it all together into his own unique sound. ❤

To be honest, I never really believed in this Love story, I always thought it was a vocabulary full of illusions, which would always be subject to a big disappointment, until a beautiful day.................. I found my happiness in a magical way !!! It was early spring and we were both walking down the same street, coming back after a long day at work, me going to university and she to high school, we crossed our paths and our eyes.I felt something very strong (bigger than myself), a few meters ahead I went back and talked to her and I was sure that she had felt the same (pure magic of destiny). We dated, got married, had kids, kids got married, and we're together after more than thirty years. Our feelings were correct, that connection of looks was true love, strong enough to last a lifetime. I would make the same choice thousands of times in thousands of other lives! True love is a great and wonderful miracle !!!

It was good for me It was good for you Now nothing either of us can say or do Can change the way you feel tonight Sometimes love just slips out of sight Just one thing before you go Just one thing that you've got to know No one will ever touch me that way The way that you did that very first day And I'll never be the same without you here I'll live alone and hide myself behind my tears No I'll never be the same without your love I'll live alone and try so hard to rise above The years go by There's always someone new To try and help me forget about you Time and again, it does me no good Love never feels the way that it should I loved you then, I guess I'll love you forever And even though I know we could never stay together I'll think of how it could have been If we could just start all over again And I'll never be the same without you here I'll live alone and hide myself behind my tears And I'll never be the same without your love I'll live alone and try so hard to rise above It was good for me It was good for you Now nothing either of us can say or do Can change the way you feel today Sometimes love just slips away Just one thing before you go Just one thing that you've got to know No one will ever touch me that way The way that you did that very first day And I'll never be the same without you here I'll live alone and hide myself behind my tears No I'll never be the same without your love I'll live alone and try so hard to rise above

In retrospect Cross was a dead end as well, no? And "The Knack" may be a one hit wonder but wow is "My Sharona" an awesome song.
@70Kenny
3 жыл бұрын
@@TheLarryBrown Yes, “My Sharona” certainly turned out to have staying power nobody foresaw in 1979. I turn on the local classic rock radio station today-or even the “adult contemporary” station-and they’re STILL playing “My Sharona.” The Knack didn’t APPEAR to be on a dead-end track during 1978 and 1979; the band had played many popular clubs on the Sunset Strip to packed audiences, and ten different record labels wanted to sign them. They chose Capitol records, and their debut album “Get The Knack” yielded the huge international Number 1 hit “My Sharona.” For whatever reason, that turned out to be the entirety of The Knack’s chart topping songs. They released two more albums (with a few more charting singles in the top 100) before disbanding in 1982, and those actually sold well enough to go gold. So, The Knack is not what I would call a “bad band;” they just weren’t that suited to Top 40 radio as it was at the end of disco. Christopher Cross has done a lot more as a musician than just his solo albums. He’s worked on albums for other well-known artists like David Lee Roth. Some of his songs have been recorded by other artists with much success. And Christopher Cross has also been a race car driver. He’s truly had a storied career.

Taking donations for a time machine to go back to the 80s. I dealt with much loneliness and heartache then, but it was still a simpler time in many ways with songs from C. Cross, Air Supply, Hall & Oates, Lionel Ritchie, Journey, Foreigner, INXS, Blondie to get you through. Heck, I even loved the 90s music too. The 2000s, on the other hand, are sheer madness and a showcase for the vulgar and heartless. I hate these days and dread the future. So, who here knows anything about time travel?
