Definitely a bop. I haven't heard this song in a few decades!!! Great pick patron! But now I've got "When you think of Laura , laugh, don't cry" stuck in my head.

Love this song and this album. Christopher Cross is underrated on guitar, but recognized among guitarists for his impeccable tone and phrasing. This album blew me away when It was first released. Thanks for the share E.

This is a good camping and boating song. Reminds me of all my aunt's and uncle's when we would go on our family camping trips. They all loved Christopher Cross. It def is feel good, good vibe music.

I wasn’t around when this album came out but I feel like this smooth adult contemporary sound was made for the year 1980. His song “Sailing” was also a big hit here too. I personally didn’t jive with this sound for a while but after hearing all his singles play daily at my work, I gained an appreciation for his sound.

such a good song and cross does the lead guitar but my fave is arthur's theme best that you can do. the backup singer michael mcdonald has a deeply soulful classic solo hit i keep forgettin sampled by warren g on his hit regulate and his work with the doobie brothers is really good especially what a fool believes which is awesome and a great showcase for Mcdonalds soulful vocals and you should check it out Empress.

You may find it interesting that a lot of the singles and album covers of Christopher Cross do not show his face. That is because while he have a fantastic voice, he was not classically good looking. So the record company downplayed his image and all these poor female (and probably some male) fools were listening to his records and fantasizing about him. During the 1981 Grammy Awards of which he was nominated for several, women across the nation sat breathless in front of their TV, eager to get a first glimpse of him (remember, they can't Google him back then) and when he went to collect what would be his first of four awards that night....cold water was splashed across the nation as reality hits.

Another view of Michael MacDonald is that he joined and thereby destroyed the Doobie Brothers. To hear MacDonald's effect on that band, listen to Long Train Runnin' or China Grove and then listen to Real Love. MacDonald was good when he was good, but a little Michael went a long way. As far as Christopher Cross, listen to and study the strings in Sailing (from same LP as Ride Like the Wind). The opening riff of violins beautifully is repeated throughout the song. Haunting. God, my freshman year of college. Lord have mercy.
