Well that was a win for Mr. Hitchens. Not even a close match.

Now I just wonder what Mr. Perkins's opinion would be if someone wanted a national day of homosexuality. It would not compel anyone to be homosexual and it would not have any constitutional effect. But I'd just be willing to guess that Mr. Perkins would be off his rocker with rage. Maybe, just maybe, he has an agenda?

+Darryl Braun It would be a lot more interesting and far less offensive than prayer.

Perkins', weak, smug smile blows him out of the water while Christopher methodically dismantles his life boat.

If they just called it, "National day of the credulous talking to the non-existent', I think that would be a good compromise.

I'm sure that logic was applied to the segregation of African Americans and Whites. "You think you know better than our founding fathers and hundreds of years of tradition?" Appeal to tradition is not a logical argument. He also appealed to the majority which is a logical fallacy.

And then again Hitchens is right, the government is supporting Christianity and in particular Evangelical Christianity. imposing a national day of praying is indeed unconstitutional. The government has to have in to account people of no-faith, or other religions...Every single state should be secular.

80% of americans are christian??? bullshit. there are so many atheists who dont identify themselvesa as such because of the hassell from family or friends. but even if 100% believed in a god......would it make the existence of god anymore likely???? USE YOUR BRAINS. there is no god. we are all here becuase of a series of chemical reacitions that happen naturally in the universe.; though scientists dont have the answers of WHERE the matter comes from, it doesnt mean that a god created everything... that is called the "god of the gaps" argument but it doesnt make it so.

why are the words "god", "prayer", even still used??? especially by politicians and presidents?? these are bronze age myths. we are really supposed to secretly ask wishes of entities that DO NOT EXIST. ITis really sad and pathetic that such otherwise intelligent people allow themselves to sacrifice dignity.... sad
