This video really helped me choose the CW over Omega. I'm rather new to watches and your explanation of percentage versus raw cost helped me understand a facet of watch dealing that I would have never understood otherwise. In my case I'm not even considering dealing my watches, I intend to wear them all. I settled on the Bronze C60 Pro 300.

I finally picked up a black dial 42mm C60 slightly used (still had some stickers on it) for around $600 recently (shipped from the UK actually). I was pleasantly surprised at the level of quality in this watch. I love the lume bezel and the adjustable clasp. Movement aside, I would say its nicer than my Black Bay. Even considering the movement, so far mine has been running -1 second. That's a killer value proposition.

What i always tell people is that when it comes to items like watches, cars (at the enthusiast level), PC's, etc. You can't look at it "objectively". You're emotionally invested into these things and that brings all sorts of weird human biases and rationalizations into the equation. So while yes, objectively there is no real plausible argument that the Omega is 6 times the watch as the Christopher Ward, subjectively to the individual that becomes a whole different ball game. Sometimes a watch that just speaks to you visually, once you get it on the wrist it's just not quite right. Sometimes a watch you saw online and watched endless review videos, and article about, when you get it in person, doesn't live up to your internal hype meter (this happened to me with the Oris Aquis). All of a sudden the price you're willing to pay for that product changes massively. Sometimes the opposite happens, a watch you were kind of lightly interested in, but mostly "meh" on, when you handle in person grabs you by the nuts and makes you love it (this happened to me with the Breitling Superocean Heritage).

Like many when I ventured into watch collection 10 years ago I felt that I had to go right up the tiers .and try Rolex omega Tudor etc . I feel with good boutique brands they are producing such great watches the differences to most people are barely noticeable these days .i like having my higher end pieces but good less expensive pieces probably play a bigger part in my daily life . I tend to advise people if brand recognition is important to you then go higher end . If it’s just a really good watch at a great price you want then stick with a company such as c ward .
