This song is real af. Not only are the lyrics speaking on the exact outcome of human relationships, and the chorus 100 percent facts because of it--at the end he said: "I talk, I walk, I think for myself and I count my money on my own, baby." Wow. When I was a kid, it was a song about a man going crazy in the world. But now that I'm grown--it's about a man staying sane in a crazy, crazy world.

My 3 year old soon to be 4 year old on may 3rd has taken a liking to this song and idk why!! I watched the Christopher Williams unsung episode last Sunday night, not knowing he was really paying attention to it. Out of all the songs they featured, this song stuck in his head. He wants to watch this video in the mornings and anytime he can slip my phone away from me. He knows who Christopher Williams is like he's the most popular singer out now. Idk what he likes about this song so much. I think it's funny. My mom and brother were stunned he knew his name. 😁

I remember seeing this video, when it first came out and saying, "The song is STRAIGHT UP Bobby Brown's 'My Prerogative' and the video is a mix of both that song's video and Bobby's 'Don't Be Cruel'. Understandably, Bobby's career was so HOT at the time, imitation was definitely the most sincere form of flattery (see Father MC's "Treat Them Like They Want To Be Treated" and The Boys' "Crazy" videos, amongst others). Nevertheless, Christopher Williams: DEF lived up to his pedigree (the LEGEND, Ella Fitzgerald); was/is a tremendous talent; and had a GREAT career. Artistically, this era (80's - mid-90's) was the DOPEST!!!

OK to clear up the confusion, Teddy Riley did "My Prerogative" for Bobby and Timmy Gatling along with Alton "Wokie" Stewart did "Talk To Myself" for Chris. They both have similar sounds due to the fact they were in the same group: Guy and also that was the common sound in the late 1980's.
