St Stephen Walbrook was designed by Christopher Wren in the 1670s after the previous church was destroyed in the Great Fire of London, 1666. Many have described this church as a masterpiece and although the church looks fairly small from the outside, it's feels amazingly big when you step inside. Wren lived in Walbrook and this was his parish church so he spent a great deal of time working on this project. The dome design was a prototype for his other masterpiece - St Paul's Cathedral.
