I used to sing this awesome song 50 years ago. I am now 74 and it still moves me to tears.

This is still the best version I have ever heard for this song, mind that's not hard if you are Christie Moore

Yes, SIMON & GARFUNKEL recorded this song on their first album "Wednesday Morning"....I realy like their version. Maybe the nicest and more terrific song about Hiroshima. ChristyMOORE is certainley the best irish singer;....but if you listen the SIMON & GFARFUNKEL' version ....the emotions are greatest..... (Sorry for my bad English, it's not my first language....

Must agree Luke kelly sings with such passion. Listen to him sing the lifeboat mona and the springhill mining disaster. Both tales of true life tragedy.

I do love Christy's singing of this. Luke takes it somewhere else. Much rawer. In the end, I guess it's just a great song. Ian Campbell wrote it.
