I was inspired by this video to write and tell myself some words that instantly helped me (and my cfs/me brain ;) ) to calm down, relax and cry a little. Here they are in case someone else are inspired to write something they find helpful: "I am safe. No reason to stress, be anxious or scared. These trying times shall also pass. I am a young healthy man. I have everything I need. I am free. I have a future. I am a good person. I have many good people in my life. Many people love me. I love myself. I am good. I am safe".

Dan said in one of his daily videos: ‘Avoiding pain doesn’t make it go away’. For me the most important lesson I learned on my TMS journey. Avoidance confirms the brain that there’s a danger going on. But it takes courage and patience to face your symptoms and the fear surrounding them. TMS is not a body problem, it’s a fear problem. Trust the body, teach the brain. Thank you both!

I really wish you two hashed out the differences in your approaches to healing in the interview. Daniel’s program seems to go much deeper and gets the person thinking about the way they live their life, while Dan Buglio’s approach is to simply convince the brain that the perceived threats are not real. It seems to me that Daniel’s perception is that the symptoms are trying to tell us something, while Dan would probably reject that notion. Would have loved to see a discussion on that. Time for part 2 of this interview? 🙃

I love this video. I was in a severe, bedridden state and I found Daniel van Loosbroek's work and I only got a few modules in and I had the light bulb moment of what you speak of in this interview. And then someone from Daniel's program mentioned Dan Buglio and it only took a few videos to confirm the epiphany I was having. I'm happy to say I haven't needed either of you in the last few months because between the both of you, you helped me see that there's NOTHING wrong with me. And the things other people or my brain think is wrong with me, I've come to accept and love and allow to simply be there and you have no idea how freeing it is to just be myself, in the moment and allow life and my body and emotions and past and future to be as it is without needing to struggle or force it to change. I get to just chill and enjoy life for what it is. AndI haven't recovered at all and it's so cool that I dont need to! I get to just be a hot mess andbe ok with it. I was not expecting anything to happen by retiring from "healing" but I just so happened to get most of my life back. I also lost my daughter to cancer in the time I stopped healing and according to others in the healing community I should be worse off than I am but, I'm not. It really hurts but Im ok with grieving and I'm still improving every day without trying. Thanks again to both of you! The best coach is someone who you don't need any more at a certain point. I just stopped by because I heard of the video and wanted to see you two together! Much love. Keep being your amazing selves.

It goes hand in hand with the fact that chronic illness has become more widespread gobally in recent years. I believe one reason is due to from a young age we are taught angry, rage, aggression and sadness are all negative emotions and should not be displayed but hidden away. Eventually if your are living beyond your means in stressful ways and not caring for yourself these repressed emotions that we aren't allowed to display start to get expressed by the body in other way. Such as pain, neurological symptoms, IBS, fatigue etc. Unfortunately with modern western culture we are taught to work work work and keep going at all costs as that is the key to success. It is so wrong. I have learnt this the hard way but I am teaching my children and will continue to teach them the importance of self care and balance. A lot of respect to both Dan's. Your helping me a lot on my journey.

As someone who was already working in trauma-informed emotional healing before my symptoms “became” ME/CFS (I didn’t know I had mild symptoms of the condition for a long time), I have to say the following: 1) I REALLY appreciate him acknowledging it takes someone who is experienced in trauma informed care to help individuals, whether they have CFS or any other condition; and 2) I have found understanding root cause traumas essential to my own recovery, as well as those I’ve worked with before I was sick too. We have to understand it first, be guided into releasing it in safe ways, and THEN train the brain to create the new beliefs. If we don’t release it, we are not acknowledging the root cause of the symptoms, which can result in symptoms or conditions reoccurring as the subconscious mind sends the signals throughout the body. If we ignore this, we are training more suppression and more depression, anxiety, rage, etc. Personally I’ve had symptoms completely stop doing this. The brain is telling our bodies to process and release first. Beautiful interview, guys!

I’ve been pain free after 5 years of suffering for about 6 months. I’ve found that since I discovered TMS I get flu like symptoms every few weeks. I’m currently having symptoms which put me in bed shivering sweating etc. I am in a stressful time of my life and it’s seems instead of coming out as pain it’s coming out as flu and fatigue. I’ve gone from hardly being able to get off the floor last year or climb the stairs comfortably to doing push ups, pull ups, squats the lot. But these flu outbreaks are holding me back. I think yesterday I had a lightbulb moment and I’m hoping I can get on top of it.

Ty Dan! The last thing I want to do is dredge up the horrific crap I went thru from age 5 to 20, then more trauma trying to cover it up for 40 yrs.Therapy 10 yrs was of minimal help...worthless in my books otherwise I wouldn't be this way. It's TMS, and I'm not broken. It's a long haul but my goal is to graduate and become an amazing success story. It will happen. Overnight? In a few months, not likely but who knows. I'm willing to have patience. Once I got a taste of pain free nights with sleep I knew. Meds were worthless..only made the pain worse eventually. No...learning to dial down that 8 lane freeway of fear. Lol...one day at a time. 🎉🎉❤

I understand this concept. Brain, safety, etc.. It's just the lack of actionable steps. Because if you ignore (in CFS/ME) the signals and just go about your life. The body tells you very very rapidly - NO, my man. You are not doing that. Even if you try to be aware that it is "just" brain creating stuff. So I'd pushback that it is JUST a mindset thing. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Dan regularly says that it’s impossible to ignore symptoms-especially if they are super high. And pushing through them is not a message of safety for the brain. The key is proactive messages of safety. Self love. Checking in with the physical body, your mental state and your emotional state. Check in with your body - are your shoulders squeezed? Is your jaw tense? Relax them. Check in with your mental state-what’s going on at the moment? Are you having lots of fearful thoughts? Let them pass away - you don’t have to believe them - they are just thoughts. Check in emotionally - is there something going on that’s stressing me? Deep breaths…relax. Keep up messages of love, gratitude and safety ❤

There’s so much more to it than Dan knows or understands. Dangerous stuff. Sure, there may be some with fatigue caused by fear or stress that this will appeal to, but that isn’t ME by any stretch.
