My first time actually using my bypass cable.
Vehicle is a 2018 Pacifica.
Using an MS906BT.
Initially, I was not even able to read emissions faults through the DLC, even in global. I still do not know why, as all the literature says you should be able to read codes without the subscription, and it has been possible on previous vehicles.
When I first tried the bypass, I was getting an error along the lines of, "your registration has expired", and had no access. I didn't know if it was referring to AutoAuth or my Autel subscription.
I called AESwave and they verified that a current. Autel subscription was needed. I purchased it and they emailed me the code within a couple of hours, which is awesome.
When I tried again in the morning, it worked flawlessly. An internet connection is required, as files (I believe from Autel) have to be downloaded as you get access to the vehicle.
Thought this might help someone as I recalled seeing something showing removing the infotainment box, and another instruction that showed a different model. Watched two videos on KZitem, but they made it sound and look like this panel would come out with zero effort - not the case. A lot of force with extreme caution is required.
I will also note that once I was hooked up and cleared the codes, there were no codes whatsoever and nothing odd with the vehicle. I had wondered about this using the bypass, since the module is not connected anymore. At least on this car, no side effects.
Thanks for watching, hope this quick vid is helpful!
