Such a legacy Master Chu Shong Tin left behind, thanks to Sifu Nima he is continuing his legacy and finding a faster way to teach this method which is in the Online School. Thanks for sharing!

So humble, yet so powerful. This really really talks to me, if you want to master yourself you must do the basics right and feel the spine become "full". You can't ignore the feeling once you felt it. It changed my life. I have been through hell and back as a former opiate addict for 20 years. But, i don't want to be without the "inner wisdom" all the ups and downs have brought me. So- in the end, im more than grateful 🙏

@@MindfulWingChun Thank you! Yes, i definitely want to go deeper. I have no map, so i need a guide to take me deeper. I have just scratch on the surface and its a whole new feeling and a mental quality that puts things in a other direction. I'm totally different, i feel more in a different way. Everybody should try this if you are ready, mentally ready and open, song.

How long did you train with CST I'm curious. I go through all your videos and indulge knowledge, when i do something that really attracts my mind i can't go halfway in. If you really loves something, it will love you back if you are genuinely committed. All fairytales are built on something, that's more inside that the eye can see. The first time i felt this kind of power i started to vibrate, a lot! My pupils dilated and the twitching forced my body in all directions and i just followed cus it felt GOOD! After this moment, i always feel more in balance in mind and body. The fascia connected, i could feel the connection so clear. It's not my fantasy that plays tricks on me, definitely not. I learned to "root" first and then some more, on my own-with instructions of course.

Intelligent, humble man. Imagine someone so talented, spending many years teaching in a particular way, and only understanding in the later part of his life that it wasn’t perhaps the right way....Seems genuinely disappointed that he couldn’t teach his pupils a quicker way.

Very much indeed. He was disappointed and tried his best to leave as best of a blue print behind as possible. And I believe he did. Its just going to take us proper and dedicated practice to get there

@@MM-zc9uq Correct and persistent practice of SNT is a very important aspect of it, but thats only part of the picture. As he said, there were a couple of us that was able to activate Nim Tao on our own before he passed away, but thats only the beginning. Then it takes a lot of time to be able to apply it in the other forms, chisau, other solo exercises that he gave for kicking, striking, the weapons etc. So accessing Nim Tao in SNT is only the beginning

I see such similarities in the CST method with Ngo Dac Na, a little known system of energy & physics principles developed by Sifu Phu Ngo over the past few decades. He articulates a lot of the same concepts, and he has acronyms and names for everything. The concept I see in the CST method, I believe is analogous to 3 PROOF (three point rule on one's focus) in the NDN system. It describes how energy should flow from the shoulder to the elbow to the wrist, and that the wrist turns to the point of contact. I implore you to look at some of their videos on their youtube channel "Enter Tai Chi" because I think you might find some common ground and their may be a potential collaboration there.

Thanks for sharing Domenic. Sure there are similarities in the 2 arts in terms of phrases (relaxation, not fighting force etc) but the energy cultivation of CST WIng Chun is more like raising the kundalini of Yoga. Also the application and utilization of the mass and joints are different between WC and TC. I had a look at the push hands video on the Enter Tai Chi page and I assure you it is very different in application than what we do :)

Siu Nim Tao may come from the Buddhist practice of separation from thought. The subconscious can run our bodies fast and efficiently after we learn the behavior it's running, like driving a car while you're mind is playing a mental movie. Thoughts get in the way and slow down the process. Try reading movie credits versus just looking at them. As Bruce Lee said, it hits all by itself.
@MindfulWingChun

Absolutely. thinking is not the way and you certainly can not think your way to attaining Nim Tao. It is present moment orientated, one-pointed intention.

Hi Nima, So i have been doing the Siu Nim Tao form for about eight months everyday, a few months ago, when i extend my hand out fully i feel a slight tingle that lasts for only about half a second. It happens usually when i extend my palms out and also when i drop my arms down, Is it that i could be possibly developing that inner energy? I remember when it first happened it freaked me out a little, and it did not start until at least 6 or 7 months into doing it everyday. I also tried tensing up and doing it and noticed that i don't feel anything unless i relax into it. Thanks! love the videos.

Hey mate. Its very hard for me to answer that question cause I'd need to feel it to confirm (or at least see it). My guess is that you are feeling a nice free moving flow of blood which is a good start and an attribute of relaxation. Not to be pessimistic but Nim Lik takes many years of dedicated (and correct) practice to achieve. Im still working on it myself :) But pls dont let this discourage you because again, I cant confirm anything until I see or feel it.

@@MindfulWingChun well I have also been a very athletic person and I remembered what sifu said that it feels like "nothing" so when I would weight train and was lifting heavy I would manage very heavy one arm rows and I noticed my muscles wouldn't feel like they were getting a workout and I noticed my muscles weren't really squeezing but I was managing over 225lb one arm rows and though I was well fit my size did not represent moving that kind of weight with a relaxed ARm My sensei showed me this technique which we set two glass Gatorade bottles about 6 inches apart now I would touch my finger tips to the first bottle and with an explosive blow send the first bottle into the second bottle completely blowing the upright part of the bottle off of its base. I bloodied my Knuckles all night until I did it and again when I succeeded it didnt feel like I used any force my hand just moved after focusing on the bottle that broke the second bottle, I was amazed!!! Prior to that all I thought about was how to use my chi and this breaking technique somehow allowed me a peak at the explosive power you speak of. I also had a situation that I unfortunately had to hit a guy and it was with my left hand I am right handed and honestly I thought I hadn't connected but a very big man just crumbled like a straw man

I find relaxing the legs/lower body very tricky. Maybe there is a sitting position where you don't have to worry about the lower body and just focus on relaxing the hips and spine? Idk just saying

Relax into the heels then rise up while simultaneously letting go. Itll go from the heels, up the legs, through the lumbar, thoracic, shoulder girdle, rise up the cervical, and relax the skull and finally the pineal gland at the very end which indeed puts one into the state of zen. From then you can feel as a spirit floating while being physically present. Then chum kiu centerline manipulation becomes easy to intend and will naturally awaken biu jee once chum kiu is understood. Biu jee is pretty unstoppable while relaxed but people think that they have mastered it once they can activate nim tao at will. In Wing Chun, you are always a beginner, never a master. Honesty and awareness is infinite. CST was indeed the king of Nim Tao, but this channel will birth many more to come. Nim Lik->Nim Tao->Chum Kiu-> Biu Jee ♻️

Is the power explained by Master here the same as that of one inch punch, i.e. kinetic chaining? A quick snap motion of the wrist, elbow and shoulder joints at the same time?
@MindfulWingChun
4 жыл бұрын
Its more about the 'condition' of the joints. So if someone does a quick snap motion of the wrist, elbow and shoulder joints at the same time but their joints are tensed and not open they wouldn't be able to get much power, especially if standing casually and without a conventional stance, However if the condition of the joints are correct (mindfully decompressed so they can give and take force effortlessly) then power can be generated regardless of position of stance and even if moved slowly there will still be great power.

Hi Nima, not sure if anyone else has experienced this, so I was lying in bed against the wall just watching videos when I felt a rigidy in my lower back, I have felt this before and thought it was just my back muscles acting up but this time it eventually crept up in between my shoulder blades where it felt tingly. Is it possible that this is 'seng' or am i just being an idiot and its something completely unrelated? I'm not able to rise up in the wing chung stance yet. Thanks!
@MindfulWingChun
5 жыл бұрын
Hey man, dont think so as it was was actual decompression in the spine you would feel it tangibly and it wouldn't just feel tingly. But yes its possible to Seng (expand the spine) while sitting or lying down too. the easiest place would be while submerged in water as there is a weightlessness and less pressure on the joints :)

Thats all good. Many people don't believe in many things and to be honest I don't blame them. I myself was very skeptic of what people said about Chu Shong Tin when I was training in a schoolof his lineage in sydney. But that all changed when I met and touched hands with him. I think if I didn't meet him and feel what he could do for myself, I wouldn't believe a lot of things that he shows in videos
