I like the idea of no hinges to wear out. Now to design it as a indoor/outdoor kitchen for a truck camper. So it sets on the side overhang and doesn't interfere with the doorway.

Very simple and elegant design. I'm a cabinetmaker and simple designs are the best for continual use. Well done sir. Protip. Use paste wax on all sliding tracks and the edges of the panels to fit into them so that they will slide easily and smoothely. EDIT: use painters tape on the sides of the box when you paint so you don't have to be quite as careful when you're painting.

Nice ! Your video is well done and explains so many details that others do not. But first, let me compliment you on your workshop. During my 50+ years working in construction type work, I always stole (with my eyes) ideas from others to use at home in my workshop. You my friend, get the 1st Prize for the best home work shop in all these years I have ever seen. Clean, organized, and a cozy place to work, all at the same time. Perfect ! and my hat is off to you. Again, thank you for the video on the chuck box. I will be copying some of your ideas on my new chuck box.

I'm not rich and have an entire collection of tools filling my tool trailer. The key was buying them used online. I'd buy from people selling multiple items. I knew what they were worth individually, and I would take the time to service them all, clean them up, take better pictures, better description and I would resell them, but I would keep the tool I wanted. I'd either make my money back or sometimes even profit from the resale of the rest of the tools. Then, if I knew I had a tool that would eventually need to be replaced, I'd make sure to sell it before it was too late and use that money to buy a new one. Took me about 5 years, but I've got almost every tool I want and haven't spent that much money, only time and effort.

@@ImGonnaMake, How about making the bottom of the “serving tray” out of either a plastic cutting board or a hardwood laminate that you keep treated with butcher block oil? Then do the cutting on the bottom side, turn it back upright to serve. Keeps the cutting scars out of sight when you serve and you can sand it smooth again w/o disassembly if it gets too worn. Also easier clean after cutting.

Well done!!! I found that the bottom of my Coleman stove got very hot during a prolonged cooking session. In fact, I melted the top of a plastic cooler. If yours gets hot also, you might want something to insulate it from your wooden top, or perhaps something to elevate it slightly to allow airflow between the bottom of the stove and the wooden surface. Happy camping.

There’s a secondary use for it. It holds stickers for the places we’ve camped. When it’s full, it will go on the wall and I’ll make a new front panel. But to your point, the guy at Blue Sky Kitchen just slips the panel between the box and the stand and there’s an easy shelf.

Superb video, fantastic design and craftmanship of an enormous box. You have managed to construct a box big enought to pack every conceivable gadget, doodad and fandango that you could possibly imagine including the kitchen sink. Where is the refrigerator? Where do you put food and caned goods etc, another huge box waiting to be constructed? Now what about tents, clothing and bedding, another huge construction? With a bit of careful thought and planning and using suitable compact and packable/stackable mutifunctioning items the volume could have been about a quarter the size. I'm waiting to see a good compact camp box to be designed by someone. Why not try that project. See how small and compact it could be made while still providing all the necessities.
@ImGonnaMake

It’s a big box, not gonna lie. Comes in close to 70 lbs. We bring a cooler for cold stuff and a milk crate for the food. I never set out to make this compact, my goal was to make camping more enjoyable for my wife. When I go backpacking, that’s the time for ultralight and pack small. Also, check the link in the description for Blue Sky Kitchen. He has some plans for smaller and lighter boxes.
