The only sad part about Lent almost being over is the end of these videos.

I’ve always loved this stop on the tour simply for the unique architectural experience. The contrast between the light of the inner circle versus the path near the frescoes, the schola cantorum versus the circular altar area, etc. The stories of the frescoes certainly draw one in to the history of our Church. I didn’t notice it last year, but why, at 4:00, are there 2 children at the feet of the Savior?

I’ll have to look into it more- about the children at the foot of the Cross

In the 1960’s I seem to remember there were some religious sisters living here?

I'm not sure about that. It has been historically tied to the German and Hungarian Colleges.

Every time I've ever been here, it was closed for restoration. This is the closest I've ever been to being inside. 😢

I remember reading about one pope who requested that missionaries visit Santo Stefano Rotondo before setting out for their missionary work to various foreign lands in order to help them understand the risks that they might encounter. What bravery. This is truly a beautiful church. Close to Santa Maria in Domnica.
